Fight! Fight! Fight! Wall street protests heat up…

Finally Americans are gathering their stones and making their opinions known about the Republican fat cats that run our country.

New York City police say about 500 Occupation Wall Street protesters have been arrested after they swarmed the Brooklyn Bridge and shut down a lane of traffic for several hours. Police say some demonstrators spilled onto the roadway tonight after being told to stay on the pedestrian pathway. They face disorderly conduct and other charges. The lane has since reopened.

Occupy Wall Street demonstrators are railing against corporate greed, global warming, and social inequality, among other grievances. The group has been camped near the Financial District for two weeks and clashed with police on earlier occasions. Earlier today, two other marches went over the bridge without problems. One was from Brooklyn to Manhattan by a group opposed to genetically modified food. Another in the opposite direction marched against poverty.

This whole thing reminds me of the film “Jabberwocky”. A small English village fighting a monstrous dragon-like creature without sufficient weapons. The outcome is predetermined unless it is a movie with a definitive script. Real life, unfortunately, has no definitive script. The folks standing on the balconies drinking champagne making millions will still win in the end. That is the American way. It is called the free enterprise system that we all supposedly endorse and cherish.

It is my firm committment that in my lifetime (what’s left of it) the folks with the champagne aren’t going to win!

In NYC alone, there are now 7,000 people: that does not count the rest of the country… and the world.

OWS is getting more organized, lazersedge. For once, I hope you’re wrong. Call me cautiously optimistic…
