Occupy forces London Cathedral to close doors for first time since WWII

Read Time:1 Minute, 26 Second

While the idea is right the approach may be wrong as the Occupy protesters in London begin to interfere with lives and tradition.

The more I hear about how OWS protests are intruding upon the daily lives of those very people they claim to embrace, the more I begin to wonder.  The fact is no one wants unwashed hippies of any age or generation crapping in front of their house, playing drums all night, or throwing buckets of urine at passersby.

Here’s yet another story of how they will start to wear on even their most staunch supporters:

St. Paul’s Cathedral has seen major crowds: Charles and Diana married here. Alexander McQueen’s memorial service was held here. The queen marked both her Golden Jubilee and 80th birthday with a service here. Still, the famous London landmark can no longer withstand the growing number of Occupy protesters gathering outside its doors. The cathedral yesterday announced it would close for the first time since a WWII bomb-scare shuttered it for four days in 1940.

Some 250 people are camped outside it, and are a fire hazard and risk to the thousands who visit daily, said the church’s dean. “We have done this with a very heavy heart, but it is simply not possible to fulfill our day-to-day obligations to worshippers, visitors, and pilgrims,” he explained. The move will cost St. Paul’s more than $35,000 a day, he said, and he implored the protesters to move on. The Telegraph reports that though the Occupiers felt the decision was a “shame,” they voted to remain. Sky News reports that a couple was permitted to marry there today, but weren’t able to walk up its grand front steps.

Ohh…. wow I am feeling really sorry for the poor church which capitalizes off of the fears and concerns of the same people they are suppose to help. No really really I am tearing up here I think I need a fucking tissue. Yea wow I mean I don’t know how the church will ever recover. Wait a minute…. they will just ask for a motherfucking handout and act as parasitic as EVER. Ohh yea that’s right the church has been feeding off of these people for ohhh I don’t know 2,000 plus years. Fuck the church and fuck your stupid ass for writing an article that is so ignorant and pathetic, I almost thought about losing more faith in humanity.

I’m an Atheist asshole so don’t think I have any sympathy for the church as a religious institution. I don’t. If you will read the piece carefully you will see that my complaint is the fact that the protesters are alleged to be blocking the doors of a building, of any kind. That is not what they should be about. So go fuck yourself.

Thanks Ron for pointing out there are two sides to this #OWS protest.
