WTF? Joe the Plumber running for Congress?

Read Time:1 Minute, 0 Second

You remember crazy Joe the Plumber? He’s baaaaack!

joe the plumber

He quickly became the darling of the GOP during the 2008 election after engaging then candidate Obama in a brief discussion, manipulated by the media, that clearly favored the Right.

Following the election The Plumber, after threatening to punch out Bill Maher, seemed to go down the drain with John McCain’s presidential ambitions.  Alas.  It is not to be so for He has risen:

With all eyes on the 2012 presidential election, a familiar face from 2008 has returned: Joe the Plumber is set to run for Congress, Capital New York reports. Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher has filed a statement of candidacy and established a congressional campaign committee. He is seeking Ohio’s 9th district seat, held since 1983 by Democrat Marcia Kaptur. And it looks like he’s sticking with his well-known nickname: His FEC filing is titled “Joe for Congress 2012.”

No doubt our loyal readers are already opening their checkbooks for The Plumber and of course we wish him the best.  Once defeated, however, although you never know with Ohio, perhaps I could convince him to fix my leaky toilet.  After all, I do live in Ohio for part of the year.

You think this is funny, but it’s about time we have a plumbing representative in Congress. Finally, plumbing may get some much needed regulation. Have you ever had a pipe leak? There is no excuse for burying pipes, a maintenance item, in walls. They should be exposable without destroying any part of the home. Additionally, when they do leak, they should cause a drip that falls to an outer insulating pipe. All pipes should be wrapped in pipes!

These outer pipes should drain to a central location with a leak censor. Once we know there is an inner pipe leak, we should go to our hinged doors, just open them, expose the pipes, find the leaky one, and repair it, then close the plumbing door. We could make these access panels, or doors, as I call them, very decorative, so Republicans could have really nice ones, purchased with the Bush tax cuts. There is no logical sense in the current plumbing design; and as any plumber knows, it is all because of improper government regulation.

Forget about congress.

John- I agree that plumbing needs regulation. My sister was hit with an unnecessary and over-priced home repair – $26,000.00! The state investigated the company after a spate of complaints. She did get a chunk back, but it was a horrible experience for this dear woman.

As far as redesign goes you are right. That kind of new regulation would need to come from experts in the field. But the last time I checked, de-regulation is part of the Republican mantra.

I am a programmer, but I can do this new design. It is not rocket science. It is water wiring, not that difficult. We should not build our house like a “penny bank” with no way to remove the pennies. What nut decided that when the time comes to repair it, we will just bust the house up.

All shower pans eventually leak. Let’s build them so you have to tear down the shower to replace them. Also, let’s make sure there is no way to detect the leak until your floor floods.

Did the Romans have these problems? I doubt it. A bunch of hillbillies today build our houses (no offense to you hill people, I mean other hillbillies not you).

It is just utterly stupid.

This district has been seriously gerrymandered to include a vast swath of dems diluting dems elsewhere in OH. Kucinich is going to try running against Kaptur, if that gives you a clue as to the make up of it. No way Joe the not plumber plumber will get anywhere here. He’s another grifter who has used up all of his 15 minutes and then some. Like Our Lady of Perpetual Victimhood, he’ll keep grifting till wingnut welfare dries up for him.
