NBA at last? Thank God Almighty! NBA at last!

Okay. I really don’t know if there’s going to be a National Basketball Association (NBA) again although from what I’ve seen from NBA Grand Poobah David Stern and union boss Billy Packer the first games start over Christmas, at least tentatively as now the lawyers are handling it.

NBA lockout over, thank god almighty NBA lockout over madmikesamerica.com

This is probably a good idea from the players perspective as more lawyers tend to lean left and pro union although they might be ticked at both sides if anti-trust lawsuits aren’t going through.

In the end it looks like everyone will win. The NBA season should be long enough to be profitable for the owners, players and everyone who relies on NBA stuff.  If they’re lucky the season can start by Christmas Day, which is usually when people start paying attention to basketball. I do miss Michael Jordan on Christmas Day against the Knicks or the Celtics.

The biggest winner though, in my humble opinion and limited knowledge of the NBA, is that New Jersey net forward and ex-husband of Kim Kardashian, Chris Humphries, will start getting a paycheck again. He’s the biggest winner among the players no one’s ever heard of and that’s not to mention the other second tier and under players.

Provided the games start soon I look for some great numbers from the superstars like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Without a good preseason practice schedule coaches won’t have time to scheme and teach defenses to keep the superstars in check early on. The Miami Heat could have its big three of James, Bosh and Wade as they take turns scoring 60 or 70 points a night each four weeks of the season.

All in all, I’m glad the NBA lockout is over. Neither side won or lost. At least not yet. We’ll have a good basketball season. And we won’t have that arrogant ass David Stern on Sports Center all the time. That may be the best thing that comes out of this. Small victories you know.

What do you think?  Should the NBA have remained “locked out?”

It’s about time, but I still think jocks are grossly overpaid.
