Five Republican presidential contenders make the rounds on this Sunday’s television talk shows, now less than a month before the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry is on “Fox News Sunday,” Texas Rep. Ron Paul is on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann is on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman is on ABC’s “This Week” and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
In the evening, President Barack Obama is interviewed by Steve Kroft on CBS’s “60 Minutes.”
Fox also has Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). NBC also has Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), as well as Iowa’s Republican governor, Terry Branstad on its political roundtable.
CBS also has Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa). And CNN has former Republican Reps. Bob Walker of Pennsylvania and Tom Davis of Virginia; former White House Communications Director Anita Dunn; former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu — and Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe, who’s facing huge cuts throughout the financially strapped postal service.
On Bloomberg TV, “Political Capital” hosts Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
And on C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers,” freshman Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) is interviewed by POLITICO’s Jonathan Allen and the Los Angeles Times’s Lisa Mascaro.
