Romney romps in New Hampshire

Romney leaves the New Hampshire primary with an impressive double-digit lead. Mitt Romney became the first non-incumbent Republican in modern presidential politics to win both Iowa and New Hampshire. But with his GOP rivals and Democrats hammering him over his years leading a venture capital firm, can Romney hang on to win the Jan. 21 South Carolina primary — arguably the most critical contest yet?

Ron Paul wins second place

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) came in a strong second in New Hampshire — winning more votes than Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich, patriotic adulterer, combined. Paul talked a big game during his post-primary speech, and with his devoted fans, fundraising prowess, and never-say-die attitude, some political watchers believe the libertarian Paul could dog Romney all the way to the convention. His fanatic fans will see to it.

The Obamas combat a controversial book

New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor titillated Washington with an “explosive” new book about Barack and Michelle Obama’s relationship, and how it affects the White House. Kantor characterized the first lady as a bully, a charge Mrs. Obama rebutted: I’m not “some angry black woman.” Meanwhile, Obama’s chief of staff Bill Daley resigned — the latest of many White House departures.

A disturbing video of four U.S. Marines urinating on the dead bodies of three Taliban fighters sparked an international outcry. “Utterly deplorable,” said Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. “Completely inhuman,” said Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Now that the Marines have been identified, many are wondering: Should they go to jail over this unsettling episode?

In the middle of the night, a rock was thrown through the window of Babylon, an Iraqi restaurant in Lowell, Massachusetts.

On January 11th, the entire restaurant was filled to capacity by veterans. Patrick Scanlon, a Vietnam veteran and coordinator of Veterans for Peace, who organized the show of support, is less than convinced this was not a hate crime. He spoke on camera about how Babylon is the embodiment of the American dream; a local business, creating jobs for other Iraqis.

I’ve come to believe in Tim Tebow

These words made me curious enough to read the whole article. Tim Tebow to me was just another hypocritical god bleeding Jesus Jumper, and no different from the millions of crazy fanatics who preach the lie and believe in the great myth.  It would have been a mistake for me to make that assumption. Tim Tebow, it seems, actually lives his faith and uses it, and his fame and fortune to help those not so fortunate.

The Jarawa tribe have lived in peace in the Andaman Islands for thousands of years. Now tour companies run safaris through their jungle every day and wealthy tourists pay police to make the women – usually naked – dance for their amusement.

You need to keep doing these pieces. You stopped for a while right after I started getting used to them. Good stuff.
