Republicans: A party of morons, homophobes, misogynists, elites

Recently, the country has been gripped by Republican controlled legislatures making headline issues for their ideologically motivated agendas.

Forgetting Republican’s disgusting and pathetic attempt to make women subject to vaginal probing, fetal ultrasounds, and regulations to abortion that demonize and invade the dignity of privacy, Republicans have also led the charge in a wave of “Voter ID Laws.”

What are these ID laws, one may ask?  On the face of things, they are laws designed to insure that only individuals with government issued identifications (like a drivers license) are able to vote.  Some only require them the first time a citizen votes, others consider requiring them more routinely.  In short, an ID buys you the right to vote, a lack of an ID disenfranchises you.

Why is this so disastrous?  Is it not a sign of legal patriotism to have an ID?  I imagine that this could be so.

Demographically, however, the poor and elderly are huge communities who do not have ready access to Driver’s Licenses (the most common form of IDs), making it easy to imagine their right to vote being inhibited.

Likewise, college students (who are often far away from home) already face difficulty with absentee voting.  More requirements on voting disenfranchise this group, and make it far more difficult for college students to have their voice heard.

Cutting away the relative neutrality of my assessment, these laws are calculated disenfranchisement.  The Republican Party (who does not try to hide their bigotry, homophobia, aversion to women, and embrace of theocratic undertones) does not want college students or the poor voting, because Republicans have a tendency to use public policy to rape the financial support network for these groups.  Republicans slash education and welfare programs while preserving huge tax breaks for the wealthy.  By lining their own political coffers with this cash, they sign blood contracts with bigoted business.  These contracts insure that the Devil of Disenfranchisement permeates local, state, and federal elections, essentially guaranteeing that the piggish Republican Party retains its firm, hold on power.

All hail, Republicans.  Their piggishness, racism, and aversion to the poor has won, again.  Of course, nobody will stand up against this bullshit.  Nobody will stand up to these jackasses, and nobody will use grit and wit to outmaneuver these engineers of electoral fraud.

Nope.  College students will sit back and do nothing.  They won’t even vote.  They’ll allow Republicans to obliterate public school funds and destroy welfare programs, and only mildly bitch when they attack minorities by drawing up draconian policies that draw social distinctions between people.

To put it simply:  I’m pissed off.  This is absolutely disgusting and ridiculous.  This party of morons and barbarians ravages the collective integrity of what it means to be American.  This party embraces those who capitalize on the hard work of others and this party manipulates the strands of fact to deceive the public.  We are college educated.  We know better, and we know how to work to undo the downright evil lies that this party spits out from its snake’s head.  But we do nothing.

So, when you see a black family from Philly (I’m Pennsylvanian) not able to vote, or your vote is not counted by absentee ballot, or the elderly are given a hard time because they do not have a driver’s license, don’t you DARE say anything unless you stand up and fight for your right to vote.

This Republican Party is an empire of filth.  Let’s clean them up.
