West Virginia is known more for inbreeding than superior, or even average intelligence.  They love their Jesus and hate gay people.  If you are pregnant and want to make a choice don’t do it in West Virginia, unless you want to be run out on a rail.  If you’re African American, Hispanic, or, Jesus pray, Asian, don’t let the sun set on your head, because you’re not welcome in West Virginia. Universal health care?  That will never happen in W. Virginia.

Knowing that, the following story will come as no surprise to even the least discerning reader:

You may not be surprised to hear that President Obama is not too popular in West Virginia, considering that a felon serving time in prison actually won more than 40% of the vote against him in last month’s presidential primary. That unpopularity apparently extends to the uppermost echelons of Democrats in the state.  The unholy trio of Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, Sen. Joe Manchin and Rep. Nick Rahall do not plan to attend the convention, according to state party chairman Larry Puccio, who released the state’s convention delegation list today in accordance with party rules. Jay Rockefeller, West Virginia’s senior senator, will attend.

It is this sort of obstructionism that will contribute to the election of Mittens Romney, and these are the sort of obstructionists who will be the first to complain.

Many thanks to USA Today for their contributions to this story.
