The Great Failure of Christianity

Read Time:35 Second

I know a lot of Christians, but I don’t know many that are unusually compassionate, or even kind for that matter.  On the contrary, many of them wouldn’t give you the time of day, and yet they claim to be Christians.  They want you to believe that living a good Christian life is important, but not as important as being “saved” the silly myth of accepting an ancient Jewish wanderer into your life and revering him above all others.  For those that do not accept “him” the “Christian” has little tolerance.

It isn’t all Christians that are bad, but the religion itself that long ago rotted at its very core. I think a lot of people go to church because their parents went to church and their parents before them. In America, a country with such a large Christian population, church going is the patriotic thing to do.

I am a recent atheist and it’s because of exactly what center man is talking about. I went to church regularly up until about 6 months ago. One Sunday I was sitting there listening to the hate fill this multi-mission dollar mega church and watched and listened as the “christians” applauded. It was then I realized what a venal bunch these christians really are. I walked out and never looked back. I agree that not all people, christians notwithstanding, are monsters, but there are more monsters than there are unicorns and for that I stay away.

Im 100% Atheist, but I’ve been going back to church lately with my wife. I see it as a refresher course as to why I’m a nonbeliever. I look around the church and what I see is hundreds of fooled people that have zero clue that they have been fooled. In this past month I’ve heard the Preacher talk about the “radical” gay agenda that is destroying our culture, Noah and his ark, and the devil and demons, 9 foot tall giants, and reasons why you should love god before your own family… My mind is blown. The church is not a place of love. What I feel there is arrogance, pride, greed, and mind control.

Hey there, you posted this shit almost a year ago, I wonder if you will get an email when I reply to this comment. So, you are going to church with your wife? You didn’t say why. Is she a believer? If so, oh my goodness, don’t you think you have stepped into quite a large problem here? How can you have any respect for someone that believes this garbage?

You’re kidding… Right?

Sweeping generalizations such as this shouldn’t be given the time of day. There are nice and mean people in all walks of life, such a thing is normal since every person is unique and therefore will have unique worldviews / attitudes to things.

Its ironic considering the nature of this post I am pretty sure you yourself wouldn’t be very tolerant to Christians hence you are depicting yourself in your claims here…
