Romney to Pick Bat Boy as VP

Read Time:2 Minute, 48 Second

Prior to 2011, I’d never heard of World Net Daily. In fact, the first time I heard of WND, I thought it was Weekly World News. You know, the paper that found Bat Boy? It turns out, I may have been more right than I thought.

WND and WWN are practically the same; conspiracy theories, mad paranoia over things that do not exist and a lack of writing skills basic in a third grade class. So, I decided to create a quiz for Mad Mike’s readers. Below, you will find headlines from World Net Daily and Weekly World News. It’s your job to figure out which headline came from WND and which came from WWN. Answers are at the end, but please don’t cheat. No Googling either. See  if you can spot the “actual” news…no…spot the real…no, that’s wrong…um…yeah, just see if you can tell the difference.

(WND, for this quiz will be ‘A’, while WWN will be ‘B’.)

1) Chris Christie Explodes During Ice Cream Run

2) Obama on New Dollar Bill

3) Obama Impeachment Hearings Begin

4) Obama To Write New US Constitution

5) Is the Antichrist building his nation even now?

6) Canada Bans Foreign Strippers

7) God Particle Found In New Jersey

8) More Eerie “Ghost Cities” Popping Up

9) Top 5 Republican Wives

10) Egypt Conducts 1ST Sex-Slave Marriage

11) FBI Agent: I Saw Angels At 9/11 Crash Site

12) White House Unveils New American Flag

13) Could E.T Really Be Out There?

14) U.S Government: No Evidence Mermaids Exist

15) How To Sell Your Soul To The Devil

16) Bill Gates Bracelets To Monitor Kids’ Responses

17) Mayans Had Contact With Aliens

18) “Very Sinister Induction” At Scientology HQ

19) Bush Goes Metrosexual, Slated For ‘Queer Eye’ Makeover?

20) Cops Mistaken For Male Strippers At Bachelorette Party

I know what you’re thinking. This is so easy! You will be surprised. And again, no cheating! See if you can determine which Joseph Farah deems “news” and which is just pure fiction from the paper that claimed the face of Satan appeared over an oil well. There is no prize, per se, just the knowledge that you are smarter than both readers of WND and WWN. Well done!

Answers:

1) A, 2) B, 3) B, 4) B, 5) A, 6) A, 7) B, 8) A, 9) B, 10) A, 11) A, 12) B, 13) A, 14) A, 15) B, 16) A, 17) B, 18) A, 19) A, 20) A.

How did you do? There are a few headlines I left off the quiz, simply because they were way too easy: Bat Boy To Be Romney’s VP (duh) and Black Pastors: Let’s Reject Obama (again, duh). By the way, the point of this little exercise was to prove that whether you’re reading about aliens invading Earth in November or President Obama being born in another country, World Net Daily and Weekly World News are almost interchangeable. Plus, it was fun to see the similarities between the headlines. Terrifying, but mostly fun.
