Mario Piperni Was Robbed By Obama Campaign
When I posted ‘Romney Hood’ yesterday, a mistake was made. I wrongly attributed the phrase to President Obama, when I should have given all the credit to Canadian graphic artist, Mario Piperni.
Mr. Obama’s ‘Romney Hood’ remarks were made on August 6th, Mario Piperni’s stunning artwork was published in January 2012, eight months earlier. I’m sure President Obama doesn’t surf the internet looking for cute phrases and sayings, but members of his campaign staff do, so what is needed is some acknowledgement of Mario’s original work. The interns (probably) who found it and handed it over to the speech writers should publish attribution on the Obama campaign website. It would be easy, and the right thing, to do.
Mario Piperni is a transplanted Canadian living in southern Florida.
For some strange reason he is passionate about U.S. politics?
He says that he has . . . “come to the firm conclusion that liberalism, as imperfect as it might be, can be equated with logic, compassion, justice and just plain common sense.” As conclusions go, that’s super Mario.
His website is pretty unique and, as far as I can tell, is a one man operation.
Its pretty obvious, as well as myself, half the Obama campaign staff have been poking around and checking out his art looking for inspiration to call their own. Fess up you guys, give a starving artist a break.
A few examples of the art of Mario Piperni, totally without permission, but with full attribution to a great artist. Thanking you in anticipation of your approval Mario. Thanks also to E.A. Blair for bringing my error to our attention.

Thank you, Jimmy. I linked back to this post in short piece I wrote.
You’re welcome Mario. Hope you get the call from the White House.
Thanks for the link back Mario and glad you liked the article. Mike.
Mario, of course I was joking about you touching up your own photo. With a name like that and talent like that, I’m sure you’re as real as they get 🙂
I really enjoyed your site, and living in South Florida for many years, I do know the area attracts and supports talent like yours.
I miss that where I am now.
Is nothing sacred, and yes he does have a cool site.
Great artist, passionate about politics and he looks like that to boot? Well done!
Erin, maybe he painted that image of himself too. I’ll be going to South Florida in a few months and will look him up. If he looks like that, I’ll let you know. 🙂
He has a very cool website.
