NASA’s share of the U.S. budget in 2012 is an estimated 0.48%. A pitiful amount, should be at least 1%. They give so much of themselves, sometimes they have given everything.

The latest great adventure from NASA is the Curiosity rover. Is a robotic, car-sized rover exploring Gale Crater on Mars. The Curiosity Mars rover carries a radioisotope-powered mobile scientific laboratory and is part of NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission by the United States.

Curiosity was launched from Cape Canaveral on November 26, 2011 at 10:02 EST aboard the MSL spacecraft and successfully landed on Aeolis Palus in Gale Crater on Mars on August 6, 2012. The final landing place for the rover was less than 1.5 miles from its target after a 350,000,000 mile journey.

The rover’s goals include investigation of the Martian climate, geology, and whether Mars could have ever supported life, including investigation of the role of water and planetary habitability, and preparing for human exploration.

My cousin put the photo with the orange sky from the mars surface showing earth on his Facebook page as a nice photo. He had someone comment that it was obviously photoshopped due to the text and that the Earth and the stars were added. I commented that other than the text added informationally, the photo is a real photo? Who is correct?

Well, seeing that the colors in the sky in the are wrong, these is are fakes. Mars has blue sunrises/sunsets. Check this NASA link, https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/news/925/what-does-a-sunrise-sunset-look-like-on-mars/

It would be great if NASA’s budget could be increased.

Good read.

we are less that insignificant. The life and death of our sun will go unnoticed by universe. we’ve always been a little nothing and always will be. It’s not so bad. It’s actually pretty liberating.

I love this photograph. Like Rick said we are so insignificant yet you’ll never convince the Christians of that.

How tiny and insignificant we really are in the eyes of the Universe. Let’s make the most of our lives, as we are but a speck of dust.
