Everything goes back to the wallet, and political campaigns are no exception.  In order to win public office, especially on the national level, you’ve got to have money, lots of money.  As a loyal democrat it’s unnerving to watch Mittens Romney bring in the big bucks when we all know what a terrible president he would make.  As a result this little story made democrats everywhere happy:

(Newser) President Obama’s campaign outraised Mitt Romney’s in August, marking a first since the spring. Obama raised $114 million, just squeaking by Romney’s $111 million, Reuters reports. It’s a small gap compared to July, when Romney’s $101 million dwarfed Obama’s $75 million. But Obama’s latest haul represents the contributions of 1.1 million donors, 317,000 of whom were giving for the first time, the Obama campaign says.

Some 98% of donations were of $250 or less; the average donation was $58. It’s the first month that the president, combined with the DNC, have raised more than $100 million this year. “Now we know we can match them, doing this our way,” the campaign tweeted. Still, before the latest report, Romney and his RNC fund had $60 million more on hand than the president. And Obama has spent money at a much quicker clip than Romney, Reuters notes: $58.5 million in July alone. What’s more, now that Romney has been officially nominated, he can spend money he raised during the primaries.

After reading this, no doubt the spirits of democrats will be buoyed to the point where they might even make a contribution of their own.  What do you think?

But, but Mittens’ campaign put out a memo this morning that says even CT and NJ are in play because O-Joe are only up by 7 points there, compared to the 20 the last election. Also, too latest polling shows Robme gets 15% of voters in OH saying he brought down Osama bin Laden so OH is in play. How can that many people be so stupid. No, please don’t tell me, otherwise I may have to hurt myself or kick my dog and she’s too little for that abuse.

Jess, I am thinking that the Prez will probably kick Romney’s butt in the debates will may slam the door on this thing. At least that is my hope.

Well with people like Candy Crowley being a moderator for one of the debates and Robme getting away with non answers I dunno. CNN has a new poll out that has PO up by 52-46 and I guess the convention bounce isn’t all the way tallied in the polls as of yet. Here was I thinking this was going to be no fun. My schaden will be freuden before very long here and we aren’t even close to the elections. This will make my canvassing for O-Joe all the more pleasant for me.
