GOP Senate Candidate: God Wants Pregnancy From Rape
The war on women continues full force on the Republican side of the aisle as a senate hopeful takes another shot at rape victims while invoking a deity.
(Newser) – The GOP is on damage control after controversial comments on rape from another one of its candidates. Senate candidate Richard Mourdock said that pregnancies resulting from rape are “something that God intended to happen,” when answering a question on abortion in a debate in Indiana Tuesday night, CBS reports. Democrats quickly attacked the remarks from the Tea Party-backed candidate, labeling him a “zealot.”
MItt Romney distanced himself from Mourdock after his remarks, the AP reports. Romney “disagrees with Richard Mourdock’s comments, and they do not reflect his views,” a spokesman said, but aides wouldn’t say whether Romney would drop his support for Mourdock’s Senate bid. After the debate, the candidate tried to clarify his remarks, saying that he meant “God creates life.” Any suggestion that he believes that “God preordained rape” are “sick and twisted,” Mourdock told reporters.

But, but the women in the republican party are telling me this so called war on women does not exist. Robme is a liar, of course he believes this stuff, he just can’t say it out loud or he might lose that 1 person who will vote for him coz he has such a nice family. I am thankful we only have two more weeks of this, because I am ready to poke out my own eyeballs and eardrums, so I do not have to see or hear these liars anymore.
What I could never figure out is why deluded fools like this clown could claim to be so caring about the unborn and Godly, then demand government cut spending and programs that aid the poorest and most helpless among us. But God forbid the wealthiest have their tax rates raised to what they were in the Clinton years.
God must be shaking His head wondering why one of His followers would think He wants women raped.
I think we are seeing another hypocrite pandering to the religious reich. He got carried away with ridiculous rhetoric and now has to scramble to “interpret” his remarks. This is appropriate and well-understood by the religious reich. They often have to “interpret” passages in the bible so they do not appear completely racist, misogynist, or murderous for general misinterpretation.
