Jesus Never Said Anything About Homosexuality

Read Time:49 Second

The religious would have us believe that Jesus condemned homosexuality, personally. That’s nonsense, and the various references found in the bible were no doubt written by ancient Jewish homophobic desert dwellers. The Krazy Kristians, of course, are convinced that the bible is the direct word of Jesus. That’s also nonsense, but talking to a Christian Crazy is like arguing with a drunk. It’s an exercise in futility.

Stephen Colbert shows us exactly where in the Bible Jesus talks about homosexuality. You’ve read that passage, right?

In the words of the immortal George Carlin:

When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion.”

Some Christians have a really hard time distinguishing between real Christianity which is based on love and peace and religious fundamentalism which is what being homophobic is. It’s one thing to think badly about gays in your head but its a far worse act to tell someone they’re a sinner for loving the wrong person. What happened to forgiving trespasses??

Generally speaking, christians are the most unforgiving, intolerant, hypocritical, willfully ignorant group of people one could meet.

They are even intolerant of other “christians” why do not adhere to the same brand of christianity. That’s why you hear the “not a real christian” argument so much.

I see little difference in “thinking badly about gays in your head” and verbalizing that to them. Nothing is changed except in the second case, you are less hypocritical about how you are.

James, absolutely. To me there is little difference in thoughts and words. Others, though, have always been homophobic and will probably always will be. I believe everyone has the right to believe what they choose to even if they are hateful or crazy but they should try to impose thier beliefs on me of tell a gay person they’re wrong in Gods eyes. It goes back to the old saying, if you can’t say something nice… And the other one about minding your own business!

Two questions I have always asked, “How does someone being gay harm you?” and “Hoe does gay marriage harm anyone?” I have never had an answer that didn’t come down to, “It’s an abomination!”

That tells me it’s no more than an opinion defined by what a person thinks things should be, not by any facts.

Actually, Jesus DID have a few things to say about homosexuality…and they were positive. http://evolequals.com/2012/08/11/the-homosexuality-question-part-ii-jesus-did-say-something/

I read the link and it sounds rather feeble to me. As I said there, one would think “divinely inspired” text would not need interpretation, it would be unmistakable and direct. But nooooooooooo,

The Good Book does say you shall not covet another man’s wife, nor his ass, MadMike.

Fortunately it says nothing about coveting Sofie Vergara’s ass so us straight guys are safe.

The simile I like is, “Debating a theist is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how well you play chess, the pigeon will knock over all the pieces, crap on the board and then strut around as if it had won.”

Good one! My neighbor is a christian nut and I intend to make certain he sees this.
