Obama Wins Despite ‘Progressive’ Haters

Read Time:1 Minute, 24 Second

I knew America would vote for Barack Obama.  Not all of us are racist, Bible banging, gun  loving nut jobs. Now we can move our country forward despite the Republicans and the Obama haters.  The former can’t help themselves, the latter should hang their heads in shame.

(Newser) Barack Obama has won a second term as president after taking Ohio, the AP reports. Though Mitt Romney won the battleground state of North Carolina along with a number of deep red states, the president’s victory in Ohio eliminated any chance of a Romney win. Obama thanked his supporters on Twitter when news agencies called the state: “We’re all in this together. That’s how we campaigned, and that’s who we are. Thank you. -bo” Obama led the electoral vote 303-206 with only Florida (29) still outstanding. (Read about his victory speech here, and Romney’s concession speech here.)

If you’re wondering why Ohio was handed to Obama even though about 25% of votes were still uncounted and Obama was ahead by less than a percentage point, the Wall Street Journal has an answer for you: “The counties in which Mr. Obama is leading have a lot more uncounted votes than the counties that have supported Mitt Romney. So Mr. Obama’s lead is more likely to widen than narrow.” The popular vote, as opposed to the electoral vote, is tight, but the Times‘ Nate Silver thinks Obama will win that as well once the West Coast ballots are counted.

Forgot this earlier. There are a record number of women will be taking their place in the senate this year. 18 of them, Mostly democrats (YAYAYAYAY) so now there will be no excuses as to why women have to settle for old priests and men to let women know what they need. There will be a few of them there to train the GoOper men.

Hey, MadMike. I feel like I’ve finally broken a 2 year long fever. The hallucinations and cold sweats are over. I actually – at one point – thought we could end up with a President Bachmann. Remember her?

One of the things worth noting is that Obama won despite Citizens United, and despite the richies, the c.e.o.s and the zealots having spent billions (with a “b”) of dollars on trying to rig the thing.

Me? Today, I am a happy man.
