Anonymous Pounces on Westboro Baptist Crazies for Newtown Threat

The vicious monsters that make up the congregation of Westboro Baptist Church may well have met their match, in two forms; two petitions sent to the White House asking that Westboro be declared a hate group, and the promise of swift retribution by the powerful group Anonymous.
The hackers group Anonymous pounced on the Westboro Baptist Church soon after the extremist group announced plans to picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to praise God for sending the gunman, Mashable reports.
The hacktivist group Anonymous published the personal information of members of the Westboro Baptist Church after the group announced on Saturday it would picket Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut where 26 children and adults were killed.
Anonymous published private email addresses, phone numbers and home addresses of various members, and teased the group about the hack on Twitter. Anonymous also posted a video condemning the group for “breeding hatred” and adding, “We will destroy you. We are coming.”
“We have unanimously deemed your organization to be harmful to the population of The United States of America, and have therefore decided to execute an agenda of action which will progressively dismantle your institution of deceitful pretext and extreme bias, and cease when your zealotry runs dry,” Anonymous warned in a YouTube video.
In addition to the efforts of Anonymous, two new White House petitions are seeking to reclassify Westboro as a hate group. One petition has nearly 90,000 signatures, while the other has almost 20,000.
