Did Religious Insanity Murder Child?

Read Time:2 Minute, 17 Second

The insanity of religion once again rears its ugly head as a young boy is beaten to death by his mother’s boyfriend as she watched.

Religion is a scourge on society, and it’s more often embraced by the dull, ignorant and uneducated than it is by intelligent, thoughtful, and forward thinking people.  It’s not always the belief in some mysterious and mythical deity that causes havoc, but the structure of the religion itself and the message it sends in that most evil of books: The Holy Bible.  The latter is a collection of stories and parables written by people not some “god.”  If there were a Jesus he had no hand in it nor will you see any passages signed by Jesus H. Christ, only those penned by ancient desert dwellers who had spent too much time in the sun.

As politicians debate the legalization of marijuana, same-sex marriage, Obamacare, and the Fiscal Cliff, they should be adding a ban on religion, because it kills, discriminates, and destroys more lives than all of the world’s wars combined.  There is no all powerful, all knowing supreme being.  It’s made up.  There is no heaven, nor is there a hell.  It’s made up.  Jesus isn’t “coming back” to earth on a cloud with the intent of murdering the non believers and taking those who are “saved” back “up” to heaven.  It’s made up.  The world wasn’t created in seven days.  It’s made up.  There was no Garden of Eden, nor an Adam and Eve.  It’s made up.

If you choose to believe in One Power, so be it.  There are many who see nature as the guiding force in the universe, or believe in the ethereal presence of a powerful force, and that’s alright, because that is your choice.  But when you add the fallible words of man to the mix, such as you will find in the Koran and the Bible, all faith becomes corrupted and subject to the interpretation of the masses.  For the sake of all that is right, just and proper, let’s stop the insanity of the chaos that is religion for the sake of our children, if nothing else.

Here’s the news report.  It’s not made up:

When I read and hear about stories such as these I’m proud that I have shed the barbaric shackles of religion, along with the father, son and holy ghost.  I’m proud to stand with the secular community and proud to call myself an Atheist.

As a survivor of child abuse, these stories really touch me, horrify me and thank my lucky stars my ‘rental units decided to adopt me. that this woman allowed that monster to do this to her child is just tragic. Yet another kidlet taken away too young.

There are those who are convinced that religion is so deeply engrained in society that it has become genetic. I’m not sure about that but I sure know a lot of Jesus nuts.

I disagree that it’s only the dull and ignorant who embrace the Jesus. I know a lot of smart people who believe that crap.

Let’s all “pray” that the ignorant assholes who did this end up behind bars forever. They are scum who don’t deserve to be in society. Poor kid. Fucking bible bullshit.

What’s the harm in religion? Many ask. Perhaps these people would have been abusive without religion, perhaps not. Either way, it’s too late for this child.

If this were an isolated case of children or even adults being physically abused over religion, it would still be a tragedy. Instead, it is far too common. Even worse, most of the abuse is never reported unless someone dies.

How true James.

I need to correct myself on this issue.

I was too hasty to blame religion for this child’s death. I suspect the man was an abuser anyway and would have beaten the child over some other issue if he had not already done so. Not reading the bible verses was just an excuse to justify he innate brutality.

I feel we can give religion a pass on this one.

Not as good as sex, though. That’s why when a self-righteous religious leader is caught in a “wide stance” or some other compromising position, it makes great headlines. 😀
