Letterman and Chris Christie Talk Fat Jokes (Video)
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie visited the Late Show last night, despite the fact that David Letterman has made more than a few fat jokes about him.
Christie was a good sport, at one point chomping down on a donut mid-conversation, and insisting he has “a deep and abiding love” for the late night host and that the jabs don’t bother him. Christie says his main concern is that the jokes be funny, and he estimated “about 40%” of Letterman’s pokes at him are.
He then read some of his favorites, which prompted Letterman to take his own bite of the donut. “‘Celebrity birthday today. Chris Christie turned 50. He blew out the candles on his cake, and he wished for another cake,'” Christie read. “And this one I thought, I don’t know if this is one of your best ones, but I think it’s very topical given what went on yesterday. ‘A billion dollars will be spent on potato chips for Super Bowl Sunday, and that’s just at Governor Christie’s house.'”
