Rubio’s Giant Water Sip Goes Viral (Video)
Following Marco Rubio’s speech, it seems more people are discussing how he drank than what he said. While giving his party’s response to the State of the Union, he was forced to dive far to the side to reach a bottle of water, Slate reports, thus creating a distraction from the speech and fueling extensive Twitter commentary. There were 9,200 tweets per minute just after the sip, Twitter says, and #watergate and Poland Spring became trending topics, USA Today reports. “Strong material but the trivial water bit will get endless attention. #LifeUnfair,” tweeted a GOP strategist.

Yes, I too was intrigued by his profuse sweating, terrible annunciation and that drink. But what I found most striking, was the complete lack of any real rebuttal. He didn’t mention a single point from the actual speech, let alone rebut any of it. He merely offered the same old Republican talking points.
It was a truly profound SOTU, and – for Obama – refreshingly combative. Rubio, in his entire stutter-fest didn’t mention anything Obama had said, and some of his statements had actually been outright denied and contrasted by the President, beforehand.
I thought Bobby Jindal’s response was lame. This was at least as bad. Same shit. This time with a water bottle as a prop to make the responder look human or something.
Have to admit once again though that one can go far in the republican party by telling idiots whatever shit they want to hear. Good to see someone living the American dream through bullshit.
What a plonker. THIS is the best they can do?
Perhaps the fact that he could actually drink water unaided was more important than anything he said?
