Waiting for Armageddon is a frightening documentary that speaks to the fervent belief of America’s 20 million Evangelical Christians that the Rapture is coming. They are convinced that they will soon be teleported into the sky to hang around with God and celebrate the deaths of everyone who did not embrace Jesus as their “lord and savior.”

You see the Crazies believe that the end of the world will be heralded by storms, earthquakes, and the Third World War, sparked by religious conflict in the Middle East, specifically Israel. There are some familiar names associated with these Krazy Kristians: Senator Sam Brownback, Indicted Congressman Tom Delay, Senator John McCain, and Senator Joe Lieberman, just to name a few.

The preachers who spread this bizarre belief, are using the fear card on their millions of followers to get get fat and rich in this life while promoting salvation in the next. Sometimes the calendar needs checking to see which century we are living in

Well said Holte. I find these Evangelicals to be as nutty as the Jihadists.

As was written on the Aqualung (Jethro Tull) album cover: “In the beginning, MAN created God in HIS own image and likeness.”

The religious right in America, with all their reliance on fear, hatred, destruction, and intolerance, proves the truth of that quote. No wonder most of them are Republicans.

That is a great quote Jack and oh so very true. Thanks man.

    Jack, I’m impressed… I had forgotten those lyrics. :-)
History revolves around great addiction to intolerant elitist (usually racial) messages of doom in order to ‘buy’ there way out of damnation… principle example Judeo – Christian church hierarchy. Y’all might get pissed at me, but these dogmas are theologically designed to frighten and marshal your fears into obedience and payment. And they are historically cyclic: every couple of thousand years / or astronomical era’s. What is more valid these days is the overall implications of fiction on the screen or loose on the Discovery Channel, and filling up the ‘prophecies’ of these crazies concerning the last baktun of the T’zolkin or Maya calendar. 2012. There are folks who are genuinely frightened and nurturing several kinds of mental illness concerning this … the whole human race has a phobia… it’s called “CATASTROPHOBIA” and we have actually been through the awfulness of a planetary catastrophe, now a point of learning in archeology, geology, several earth disciplines. A comet sizable enough to shift the poles a few degrees hit us around 12,000 years ago and ushered in an Ice Age. But! I go on…
This is my stock and trade… illuminating folks that 2012 is not the END. It is, contrarily, a new beginning cycle in the greater cycles turning in the skies. We are entering a new ‘great year’ or Aquarian Age… a new 26,000 year orbit through each of the successive constellations of our skies… beginning with Aquarius (it ends in Pieces). We’re shimmeying into Aquarius right now and all the shake rattle and roll is pumping people up. We are being challenged to rise above FEAR… FEAR is the root cause of our devolution… conquering FEAR is our evolution… I’m not hawking any kind of ‘belief’ or ‘program’ here, I’m simply saying we have completed a turn of the largest time keeping wheel (astro-physically) and we are being challenged to evolve. Beyond the Fear… the fundamental in above displayed Fundamentalism.

Gwen you won’t have to worry about anyone getting upset around here. You are right about all of those shows and news about 2012. The same thing happened in 1999.

I’m having problems logging in today – keep getting ajax & server error messages.

I do have a comment, haha. So, there are 20mm of these crazies, roughly 300mm citizens in the country, that means that we’ve all been hijacked and are held hostage by the crazier-than-a-shithouse-rattiness of…what, I come up with 6% of the population. WTF?????

Bee I have also been having problems logging in. I need to check with my web host and see what is going on with their server.

What these naïve people don’t realize is that there have been movements for literally centuries who were convinced that their own times were the End Times. There were the Millerites, the early Jehovah’s Witnesses, various groups in medieval times, etc. The Bible is vague about the signs and the End Times, and there is always a certain amount of war and corruption in the world. The current crop of Armageddon fetishists are too ignorant of history to realize that they are simply following a script that maillions of others have followed before them, time after time, generation after generation.

By the way, I’m not sure what you mean by “associated with”, but I don’t believe that McCain or Lieberman believe in this kind of nonsense. Lieberman isn’t even a Christian.

It’s the same old song, just a different beat, or something like that.
Infidel you are correct, Lieberman is Jewish, and for his behavior in the Senate they are reserving a special place in Hell for him, if there is such a place. If not scatter his bones. No need to worry about his soul, if there is such a thing, it has been bought by several different lobbyists.

Lieberman is associated with some sort of Jewish lobby that plays right into the speculation of the coming apocalypse. There is more but I don’t have the time to research it right now. I didn’t mean to imply he was a willing ally.

You know, I didn’t even think that first comment went through, Mike…my trouble getting the site to open, and then navigating within, started last night. I think it’s a wordpress server problem (unless you’re on a different hosted site, then it’s their problem).

I think I heard something ages ago about Lieberman and something apocalyptic…oh, wait, maybe that was just his f’ing speech at the RNC convention last year, the puny little SOB.

Mrs Bee several of us are suffering from that server thing today. This site is hosted by i-Page and I have a call in for them. Quite frankly I am thinking of switching to another company. There are just too many glitches and problems with these guys and they don’t know much about WP.org. I have had to do everything and fix everything. I think I am tired of that now :-) :-)

I just posted a comment, but I don’t think it came through. If this comes through twice, sorry!

Mike, WordPress has a short list of hosts that they recommend – here’s the link:

Mike, having the same login/server issues.

As to the video-what a bunch of sick fucks. That one Christian bitch-”they will NOT put up a mosque here”.

Yeah some bitch from the US midwest decides where Muslims put up mosques in Palestine. The other dirtbag says the Iraq War was a good thing for Christians, hastens the end of the world.

These are some sick, sick people. Fundamentalists give all religions a bad name. Jihadists, Born Agains, Jewish extremists. All the same.
