His name is actually David Robert Jones, and his father was called Hayward Stenton Jones and he was once known as ‘Ziggy Stardust’.Prior to that he was part of Davy Jones and The Lower Third but then along came The Monkees. Davy Jones? Oops
Thanks to The Monkees, David Bowie was born.
After ‘Ziggy Stardust’ he was known as ‘Alladinsane’ and shortly afterwards ‘The Thin White Duke’
He went from ‘Hippy sounds’ such as ‘The Wide Eyed Boy From Freecloud’ to ‘Glam Rock’ sounds where he was immortal with ‘Starman’ and ‘The Jean Genie’ and then topped America’s Soul Chart with ‘Young Americans’ – the first ever ‘white artist’ to top the American black soul chart.
I have adored David Bowie since I was about 13. ‘Space Oddity’ in 1969 started it.
My parents were shocked and bemused so he had to be good eh?
Bowie may well take over the world one day in the guise of Thomas Jerome Newton. – If you aren’t a Bowie-o-phobe don’t even bother to ask!
Well? Would that be so really really so bad?
I could waffle on for hours about David Bowie.
If I wanted a God he would be mine.
I don’t but in so many ways he still is.
Just so you know who you are dealing with here…
David Bowie IS MY GOD.
10 bloody years he’s been away and now HE IS BACK.
REJOICE!!!!!
God Save The Queen and, clearly, God Save David Bowie!!!!! – Heaven has returned to Earth.

Man who fell to Earth tie in, nicely done. I am a fan of his also. Obvs not as big as you but I am a fan. Ok, so now we get to do favorite Bowie song. Mine has to be the duets he did with Queen on Under Pressure and Heroes. Space Oddity and China Girl or Let’s Dance. Maybe I have more than one so sue me

I’ll sue you gently
‘The Prettiest Star’ from Aladdinsane (written way before Aladdinsane as it happens) is a fave. I’ll dedicate that one to you x
‘Kooks’ from Hunky Dory. Used to sing that one to my daughter when she was a baby.
‘Blue Jean’ was just soooooo supurb!!!
‘Sound and Vision’ caused me to paint my bedroom electric blue resulting in a swift trip to a child psychologist. Eh? I was 16!!!
‘Rebel Rebel’ was what an ex girlfriend used to sing to me during…well…personal stuff. A bit weird I suppose.
‘Heroes’ makes me cry
‘Loving The Alien’ makes me question my mind
I’d better stop now or I’ll be here all night.
Welcome back GOD!

I’ve just ordered the new album and my thighs are vibrating and I’m straight.
I have to admit there’s been a few relatively dodgy albums in his later career – not that there were’nt a few good tracks within.
I SO SO want this to be ‘the business’ and, if ‘Where are we now’ is a realistic sample then we are back to good times!!!!
Welcome home Davey Jones!!
