Hungry shark savages honeymooner

Read Time:1 Minute, 6 Second

Shark ‘attacks’ are rare, very rare, although they get a lot of press attention when they happen.  In point of fact when there are people in the water, where sharks live, such events are inevitable.  Most incidents occur at bathing beaches where there are hundreds and hundreds of people splashing about in the water, at about knee depth.  Surfers are also often victims of feeding sharks.

A French man was killed by a shark while on his honeymoon on Reunion island, AFP reports. The 36-year-old was surfing at the popular Brisants de Saint-Gilles beach at the French Indian Ocean island when the shark attacked him twice, biting his arm and thigh. A swimmer who saw blood in the water alerted lifeguards, who brought the man back to the beach, but could not revive him. His wife, who was on the beach at the time, is being treated for shock. The island has seen three fatal shark attacks in the past two years.

That’s ok he was French. Probably tasted of garlic.

France eh? Lovely place but it’s full of French people.

Am I in trouble again? It was a joke! Sick perhaps but can’t I be me?? 😉

Really, whatcha think is going to happen when you go in water where there are sharks possibly protecting young ones.

The water is not “shark infested” at all. The water is their home. Most people understand that a shark’s normal food is a warm-blooded mammal, the seal. Because we are warm-blooded mammals and splashing about in the water is much like a wounded seal or other prey, er sound and appear to be an easy prey.

We are in their dining room looking like a meal. Those are not attacks, they are a case of the munchies.

Sharks doing what sharks do. Swim and eat. Nothing personal.

Don’t forget “and make little sharks.” That’s an important part of their lives. 😉
