Senator Tom Coburn Calls Leader Harry Reid an As*shole
Climate change and evolution denier Tom Coburn of Oklahoma isn’t playing nice with his senate colleagues. That being said, Mr. Coburn is probably just being himself when he calls people assholes, as he called Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
At a New York Young Republican Club gala on Monday, Tom Coburn reportedly trash-talked Harry Reid. When asked about his relations with opponents in the Senate, the Republican senator replied that some Democrats are easier to get along with than others. “I have great relationships with Chuck Schumer. I don’t say that in Oklahoma,” he said, per the New York Daily News. “There’s no comity with Harry Reid. I think he’s an absolute asshole.” Since his remarks went public, Coburn says he wants to meet with the Senate majority leader to smooth things over, reports the Hill.
But Reid, who came out of the recent debt ceiling brawl looking like something of a bulldog, might not be so keen.”Nothing says ‘comity’ like childish playground name-calling,” his spokesman, Adam Jentleson, hit back with in a statement, “especially from a senator who has not sponsored a single piece of successful bipartisan legislation during his entire Senate career.” Not to be outdone, Coburn’s spokesman responded with: “Adam’s opportunistic, and factually challenged, faux outrage shows why these conversations are best left at the member level.”

And I always thought he was the lessor of two evils in comparison to ol Jimmy Inhofe who’s a complete lunatic. See, I’ve only lived in Oklahoma since 2005, but I notice a pattern-only very stupid or very rich people vote Republican. The state’s education system and funding is laughable and most people go to church on Sundays to hear how it’s a sin to not vote Republican. We need more informed people, not Christian right winged lunatics, to start voting Democrat. Tulsa has a huge democratic population and so does OKC. We used to have a Democratic governor, Brad Henry, and now that Mary Fallin is a complete failure, I’ve heard rumors of getting Brad back, so maybe there’s hope. Until then, this twenty something OK resident is voting Democrat all the way and praying for the day that right wingers remove their heads from their backsides to see the GOP only cares about winning their own, stupid games, which currently is to demonize the President and Harry Reid, men who work hard, care, are very intelligent and play fair. Great article, Carol.
Bang! Another Republican bulls-eye in the foot.
This is one nasty guy. He represents Oklahoma well.
