How Chris Christie Secured the Presidential Nomination

Read Time:2 Minute, 54 Second

I figured I’d be a good sport and let the liberals enjoy their week of Governor Christie bashing.  Oh the poor children who were late for school and the ambulance that took seven minutes instead of four.

While all the pundits are claiming the closing of a bridge orchestrated by Christie’s staff cost him the Republican presidential nomination, the truth is these people are freaking stupid idiots with no clue how politics works and how respect and loyalty are earned.  Governor Christie just showed them.

The world is not a wholesome place. Politics is a reflection of that.  It’s not about high ideals and a better America. It’s about getting elected and rewarding those that helped you get elected.  It’s about punishing your political enemies.  Those are the things that breed loyalty, grass roots efforts and donantions.  And Christie just showed all those on the Right who may not have supported him for shaking hands with President Obama or not hating the unfortunate enough, that he truly is one of them.

Every high level politician has an “inner circle.”  The two people Christie fired were in his inner circle.  They’ve been with the governor for years. They knew how he thought and felt about rewarding friends and punishing enemies.  They both had high dollar state jobs for Christ’s sake.  So did hundreds of other anti-government Christie friends.  You have to love the irony of anti government folks getting government jobs. But as I say, it’s different when us Republicans hire our friends,  so the two Christie people arranged a bridge closing to send a message to a Democrat mayor who didn’t support the ‘gov’ during the last election.  And Governor Christie, in a performance worthy of Lawrence Olivier claimed he was lied to and fired the two of them.

Don’t worry about them though because we Republicans take care of our own. They’ll get cushy jobs soon enough and this will all blow over.  But what the liberals don’t get is how this is benefitting Christie.  Chris not only can tell people he fired two liars, he can also go to any Republican rally and snicker with the masses at how he stuck with the Democrat mayor.   Republican primary voters will love it,  just as we love when a Republican politician tells us the myth of the welfare mother with ten kids driving a cadillac and getting thousands of dollars a month in government aid.  (Which of course is a dressed up way of saying the politician doesn’t like Blacks, making him one of us in many parts of the country)

Of course, the governor will face the press and answer questions about this issue for years.  This will give Chris several opportunities to remind us how he fired two people for doing what he wanted them to do, and yes, Christie wanted the Democrat mayor to get the message, in addition to sending a message to anyone that would cross him, and remind republicans how he stuck it to the democrats.

Chris doesn’t care what the hard left and yellow dog democrats think. They won’t vote for him anyway. But the casual observer who may lean one way or the other will hear what Christie wants them to hear. The Republican voter will hear what he wants to hear.  And Governor Christie will play them like Boxcar Willie played a guitar and harmonica at the same time all the way to the Republican nomination for President of the United States.

There’s a subtle message for democrats here Jess. When Rand Paul or Mitch McConnell come looking for some largesse I hope democratic leadership looks back on this.

Wow, NOW I will vote for Chris Christie when 2016 rolls around, since Joe has given me all the good reasons and more why I should. Thank you Joe, for helping make up my mind about who I should vote for.

Joe I had to read this several times (before I got the snark) but it was well worth it. You have got to win the Pulitzer with this one.

My mail order degree in humanities and journalism from Liberty University should be here any day Tim. That will give some serious gravitas when I accept my prize.

I can’t wait for 2016 so I can thumb my nose at everyone and say I told you so.
