Russian Nationalist Leader Wants To Limit Sex

I’ve never been to Russia, but like Edward Snowden I’d like to “visit.” You see there are some really strange people in Russia, rather like in America. Everyone, it seems, has their share of Republicans. It seems a hard right conservative Russian leader wants to limit sex.

Attention-seeking Russian nationalist leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky is calling on party members to follow a stringent recipe for a healthy lifestyle that includes limiting sex to once every three months.
Zhirinovsky, who is known for outlandish proposals, made the comments on Tuesday after journalists asked him how he spent the New Year holidays.
“Starting this year we are introducing norms for sexual activity: once a quarter,” said Zhirinovsky, who said he didn’t drink, smoke or eat meat during the holidays.
“Under the influence of pornography, porn cassettes and various frivolous films like that, the young generation has internalized a norm of the more the better,” said Zhirinovsky, who founded the virulently nationalist LDPR party in 1991. “Well, the less the better. And only when there is mutual affection. Here’s the standard: once a quarter, three or four times a year is enough.”
In an apparent attempt to forestall possible mockery over the suggestion, fellow LDPR deputy Sergei Ivanov said his party leader had made the remarks in jest.
“What is a normal person to make of this? What do you think, that Vladimir (Zhirinovsky) is so stupid as to tell a deputy, a member of the party or a regular citizen how much time they should engage with the opposite sex?” said Ivanov.
Ivanov said Zhirinovsky made the remarks for the benefit of bored journalists.
In the past, Zhirinovsky has proposed polygamy to increase the population.
Also, in October, he proposed implementing birth control measures in Russia’s troubled North Caucasus to combat the proliferation of terrorism. He also suggested the North Caucasus should be cordoned off with barbed wire in remarks made a few days after a presumed terrorist attack on a bus in the city of Volgograd.
It was unclear whether those recommendations were made in earnest.
The moral of this story: if you enjoy a lot of sex and like to travel you might want to consider France.

Will there come a point, on an international scale, that the people will revolt in response to this plutocratic oppression? They have legislated against women, against alternative sexual orientations and gender presentations, proposed all manner of control over individual human existence. Like in the days of Nazi takeover of Germany when Martin Niemöller wrote “First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out– Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out– Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out– Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me–and there was no one left to speak for me.”
Now they seek to control the sexually active heterosexual population. Will this be enough? Will we unite to demand our rights, or willing go to the ovens we as a society have condemned our “different” brothers and sisters to for the recent past? We have already surrendered to rule by the plutocrats, will we willfully return to being ruled by oligarchs?
Neh, proposing a limit to sex, no biggie. But only once every THREE MONTHS? This guy’s out of his mind! When I first read the headline, I thought he meant like once a day or something. Crazy.

Politicians are the same everywhere. They are too stupid or too egotistical to understand that you cannot legislate morality. That goes for sex, drugs, gambling, prostitution, and everything else.
No wonder Russians want to leave Russia.
Poor guy doesn’t even grasp that we are so far removed from VHS tapes. He will probably have a coronary or three, when he finds out teh pron is available on the toobs fer free these days.
