The State of Education in the USA

Read Time:33 Second

The editors at Best Education Degrees decided to take a look at education in the United States. Many analysts and pundits speak of United States education as if it were one unit, but in reality every state and locality decides how much money to allocate towards education and how to allocate it.

There are some federal guidelines and some federal spending, of course, but in the end every state is a micro-laboratory for education. Click on the tabs below (High School Grad Rate, etc.) to see different educational metrics and then click on the states below to see where they rank! Where does your state rank?

It might be no surprise that the bible belt states consistently rank in the lower half of all categories except teen pregnancy rate, where they are among the highest. So much for no sex education, abstinence, and “keeping god in the schools”.

No wait, god wants females to be pregnant, early and often. It looks like, in that regard, they are “being fruitful and multiply.”

They are forward thinking in the south and in the immediate area around San Francisco. The rest is more neo-con. On top of that, the state is essentially broke.

Reagan fucked us up with removal of money from schools and higher ed. It used to be a free or almost free education here, till he came in with his tax cut bullshit. We are getting better James since Jerry has been in office. Because we don’t have 1 or 2 GoOpers mucking things up we have a majority of dems in the state house, we can get things done without input from GoOpers.

As the saying goes, “Rots of Ruck.” Jerry wont be there forever and who knows what you’ll get next? “Democrat” and “Smart” are not always the same thing. “Politician” and “Opportunistic” are.

Yes, we do need a cynical font, too. Or maybe that should be assumed unless otherwise indicated.
