Nutty Right Wing Radio Talker: Shoot all Left-Wing University Profs

It’s a good thing that most of these hard right religious radio hosts have less significance than a deer tick, otherwise I might be facing a firing squad, along with thousands of other “left-wing university professors.”

Austin Ruse, while filling in last week for American Family Radio host Sandy Rios, commented on the media frenzy surrounding a Duke University freshman who announced that she is a porn actress.

Ruse, who leads the ultraconservative Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute (C-Fam), promptly blamed the college’s women’s studies department and said that “the hard left, human-hating people that run modern universities” should “all be taken out and shot.”

Fortunately only a couple of million people actually believe what these nutters say, otherwise America would be in real trouble indeed.

That is the nonsense that they teach in women’s studies at Duke University, this is where she learned this. The toxic stew of the modern university is gender studies, it’s “Sex Week,” they all have “Sex Week” and teaching people how to be sex-positive and overcome the patriarchy. My daughters go to a little private religious school and we pay an arm and a leg for it precisely to keep them away from all of this kind of nonsense. I do hope that they go to a Christian college or university and to keep them so far away from the hard left, human-hating people that run modern universities, who should all be taken out and shot. – See more at: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/austin-ruse-says-left-wing-university-professors-should-all-be-taken-out-and-shot#sthash.4htrkpop.dpuf

Fact is, folks, Jess is right. It is difficult to attach any particular action to any particular statement. It has been done though in a couple of particular cases but they were related to a leader of a particular group. One was an Aryan Brotherhood group in the Northwest and another was a civil Judgement against Robert Shelton of the KKK here in Alabama. I am sure there may have been more but I remember those two. Simply saying something should happen to someone without any sway over those who actually take action is not sufficient to hold the speaker accountable.

Only in America eh?…..I hope

James, that was my reaction too! And, of course, this nutter is not the first one who advocated violence! to be honest, I don’t know why Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly have never been arrested! Heck, Sarah Palin took criticism for her aiming at Democrats, but even though she actually drew targets over them, she was never held accountable! But of course, they all claim freedom of speech; it only happens to count if it’s someone they like whose practicing said freedom! Otherwise, of course, each shouting “fire” in a crowded theater…

I have an idea. I’ll take a shot at Mike. When I am arrested, I’ll say that Austin Ruse told me to do it. That should prop up my insanity defense, right?

This OK with you, Mike? I promise I’ll try to miss 😉

Do you have any favorite target areas or preferred calibers?

In the ass so it isn’t that bad and he will be able to get up and around fast. I don’t want him to hurt James.

I have it on good authority that he is a “hard ass” so it’s probably bullet proof anyway.

Isn’t that advocating murder, inciting to violence, or a “hate crime”? If you threaten to beat someone up, isn’t that considered to be assault in many jurisdictions? Suggesting to others to shoot someone seems a bit more serious to me.

If you said something similar in only a classroom, not to a huge audience of broadcast listeners, I suspect that you would be immediately dismissed, if not arrested.

What makes this asshole immune from responsibility for his words?

James, it’s not advocating anything if you shoot liberals at the behest of republicans. It’s like when they boycott anything, it’s done for righteous reasons. Whenever there is something done on the liberal side it’s against everything good and fascisty leanings that make us do things.

SCOTUS said in Brandenberg vs Ohio, that gubbmint could not do anything punishment wise at inflammatory speech unless it is directed to incite and likely to incite violence. I’ve had that one rammed down my throat till I almost know it by heart by the lawyer I live with when I complain about 1st amendment stuff not being enforced.

Re:SCOTUS Isn’t “Should be taken out and shot” inciting to violence? Maybe being shot is more fun now than it used to be?

It’s got something to do with, you can say all you want about Jess should be taken out and (insert whatever here) since you know hardly anyone would actually do that other than the fringiest of the fringe nutbags. They always fall back on, well I didn’t really mean for Joe Blow to take Jess out back that is just what he got from it. I don’t like it at all and I have argued with hubby back and forth about it being all kinds of wrong but like he says, the law is the law. It pisses me off when he does that so you know. Here’s the Wiki summary on it for you to see.

It’s ironic that you are complaining about incitement to violence, Smith. Don’t you think? When you like to wander around Disqus posts threatening and insulting anyone who does not agree with you.

Is this not a bit hypocritical coming from you, given that you wrote this comment: http://www.newsforage.com/2013/08/the-norwegian-prison-where-inmates-are.html#comment-1218716815
