Joran van der Sloot, 26, is now serving time in Peru for murdering a 21-year old college student, and Peruvian authorities have agreed to extradite him to the United States, but not until 2038.
The young killer has 24 years left to serve in Peru and that nation intends to see to it that he serves every single day, before going to the US to face justice for his activities with regard to the death of American teenager Natalee Holloway in 2005.
US prosecutors accuse the 26-year-old of trying to extort money from Holloway’s mother by offering false information about the whereabouts of her daughter’s body—which he admits doing because they had “made his life difficult.”
The body of the 18-year-old from Alabama was never found after she disappeared on the Caribbean island of Aruba, but she was declared dead in 2012.
