Armed Gunman Impersonating FBI Agent Attempts to Arrest Mayor
In the tiny Alabama town of Weaver, a man pretending to be an FBI agent appeared at City Hall demanding to see the mayor. Bobby Beck, when told the mayor wasn’t in, proceeded to wave a set of handcuffs promising to return reports the Anniston Star.
Bemused police tracked down the 59-year-old man hanks to surveillance video and a partial license plate, and he told them he wanted to arrest the part-time mayor “because it’s against the law for a mayor to be anything but full time,” reports al.com.
Beck, who had a semiautomatic pistol at City Hall, faces a slew of charges, including impersonating a peace officer and making a terroristic threat.

Terroristic threat? That isn’t even a word. Terrorism is the charge du jour for everything from drunken driving to jaywalking.
It’s an indication of where the government is heading. Charge anyone with being a terrorist and all civil rights and legal protections are gone. Totalitarianism is here wearing the flag and carrying a bible.
They charged him with an act that fits the profile of a terrorist act, at least in their state. He came to a government building, impersonating a federal officer, armed, and threatening to arrest the mayor. I doubt they are going to send him to Guantanamo, especially since he’s only charged under local statutes.
