Paper is huge consumer of forests. Computers have not made a “paperless” office. They have made it easier to use more paper. I personally rarely print anything. I mostly use my multifunction Epson to scan documents to save them. The scanned documents go to a recycling box that we periodically take to the grocery store where they have recycling bins for the public.

Here in Brazil, the rainforests are still being cut down and burned off, mostly for cattle ranch8ing. Where does this beef go? Much is used here but a lot goes to the USA. The chain, Burger King is now owned by a Brazilian company and I have no doubt they have a policy of using Brazilian beef whenever feasible.

Fortunately, most of the world’s oxygen is generated by algae in the oceans. Unfortunately, that source is also endangered.
