George Bush and the Thrown Shoes

Read Time:42 Second

The last foreign policy trip George W. Bush took as President, and the last few days of the Bush Presidency itself are remembered for a single jarring incident. Shoes were thrown. They missed. The President was amused.

What is often overlooked is the reason President Bush was visiting Iraq to begin with.
The new Status of Forces Agreement had deadlines. Some experts thought the United States should stay a lot longer. The time frame of our stay should be anywhere from a few more years to a few more generations. Mostly they were the same experts who had marched us into Iraq.
But Iraq’s Prime Minister, not to put too fine a point on it, turned out to be an astonishing jerk.

It is still up for debate exactly why Bush wanted to go into Iraq. According to the latest reports it was to make sure the oil kept flowing from the Mideastern countries. However, when you listen to George W. Bush it was because Sadaam was an evil man and had to be removed from power. Still, one wonders, was he simply trying to finish what his father started, and still another theory is that Sadaam had threatened his father. Now I believe that Bush was dumb enough to have believed the bull shit that Cheney and Wolfowitz were shoveling just as Colin Powell did. So if you take a bobble head like Bush and put all of those theories bouncing around in his head, well, bless his heart. I was really disappointed in Powell though because he was smart enough to see through the bull shit. Condi Rice was willing to do anything to be among the guys. If she was white she would have been blonde. The problem is that they actually set up this disaster that unfolding now. John Sununu was blaming Obama for not pressing harder to get a status of forces agreement. How many languages does he have to say NO! in before people understand that Malaki did not want us there for a reason? He wanted to be the next Sadamm. Unfortunately, he is not Sadamm and ISIS forces are kicking their butts and now he wants our help. If I had my way I would say make a damn parking lot out of Iraq, except that I know that there innocent, but crazy as hell, but innocent people there. So, I suggest we drop some leaflets and tell the good ISIS people that if they don’t stop hostilities immediately we are going to start bombing everything that moves in Iraq until they do stop. Remember the no fly zone. Now we will have a no move zone. The only movement allowed will be people leaving Iraq back toward Syria. Anyone else we make confetti out of them.

“W” clearly was the worst president of all time. Really, he was no president at all. He was run by Carl Rove and Dick Cheney, both working for the moneyed interests that paid to get him elected.

They were looking for someone weak and stupid enough to be easily controlled. If there was someone better suited t that role, that person would likely have been institutionalized. As it was, it took a lot of CYA to conceal his personal and ethical failures enough to get him elected. Shame on America for doing it twice.
