Glenn Canyon-My Country Cousin

Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

I understand that not everyone is a country music fan.  Even so, some is much better than others, (like most music styles) and I think my cousin Glenn Canyon is a great example of that.  He writes serious, funny, romantic, and religious themes with equal facility.  He’s worth a listen by anyone.

Glenn is three years older than I am so we have know each other forever.  He, just a little more forever than I.  🙂

For a time, in our 20s, we worked at the same company and played music in some of the same places.  Sometimes, I’d play his breaks When I wasn’t otherwise engaged.  That’s keeping the revenue in the family.

His musical career has been far more successful than mine.  It might be more talent, skill, and dedication?  It was probably only because he had more talent, skill, and dedication.

He has always been a country musician and has been a writer for Pamper music, owned by Ray Price.

He recorded for Boone records with a top ten side titled, “One Of Then There Things” and played TV shows in Missouri and Cincinnati as well as the Renfro Valley.

Glenn has always been a talented song writer and has had his work recorded my other artists such as Stonewall Jackson, “The Daisies Grow Free”  and “Candy” by Conway Twitty for whom he was working then as a writer.

He has also worked many stage shows and festivals, fairs and he, with his group the Americanyons, was the main back up band for the TV show “Hee Haw” and a local TV show “Midwestern Hayride.”

Lately, I have been making some of his music into videos and posting themposting them on Youtube and Tubewatcher.tv where where they are getting far more views than on Youtube – go figure.

I like this sort of music. My folks used to play those 78RPM records of this stuff back in the day. Loved it then and love it now.
