Two Polls Show Dems Ahead in Key Senate Races
Two highly reliable polls, NBC News and Marist, show Democrats ahead for the senate seats in Colorado and Michigan. They must hold on to these seats if they wish to retain their majority in the senate.
From TheWeek:
In the Colorado Senate race, incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Udall leads his Republican challenger, Rep. Cory Gardner, 48 percent to 41 percent.
In the Michigan Senate race, where longtime Democratic Sen. Carl Levin is retiring, Democratic Rep. Gary Peters leads his Republican opponent, former Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land, 43 percent to 37 percent.
NBC’s analysis points out that the two Democratic candidates are being aided by their strong margins among women voters, with Udall ahead by 12 points among women, and Peters up by 13 points:
The Democratic path to survival in this very difficult midterm season for the party is through women, and that’s especially true after the Hobby Lobby decision. There’s no doubt Democrats are going to win women voters in the fall; the questions are by how much and whether it will be large enough to save the party’s Senate majority.

I think Allison Lundergan Grimes is going to take Yertle the turtle down in Kentucky too. Just in the last quarter, she raised about 4 million and that is a record for Kentucky, Yertle held it last. they go back and forth with who is leading and right now they are neck and neck I believe within margin of error points. He’s up by about 1.5%. He has never had to fight this hard to keep his seat and with all the lying he is doing KY people are getting sick of it.
Check out the evening news and morning papers. In an unprecedented move 104 Republican leaders in Kansas many former legislators and school board members held a press conference in Topeka this morning at the Ramada Inn and announced their public support for the Democratic governor candidate Paul Davis and his running mate Jill Docking to oppose current Governor Sam Brownback to save Kansas from his flawed policies.
Kansans are coming together to tell Brownback we can’t take anymore of his experiments. Brownback will be defeated.. As a voting Kansan and a Republican, for more than 50 years, I know a Democrat can win in Kansas… because Kanas has elected 11 Democratic governors through the years out of the 45 Governors elected and this election will send Sam and his Tea Party back to the bridge to nowhere.
Wow!! I hadn’t heard of this. Thanks.
Polls are fun but they also predicted such a strong lead Dewey had over Truman that a newspaper prematurely printed a headline saying Dewey had won. What a famous picture that made.
