Alabama New Right Wing and the “War On White People”

Read Time:3 Minute, 32 Second

Alabama’s Right Wing is now reaching heights usually attained by by Ted Cruz, Michele Bachmann and the other screw balls. Governor Robert Bentley is making previous governor George Wallace look like a screaming liberal and best friend to the poor and minorities. Since taking office he has been a lap dog for the Tea Party and the wealthy leaving the poor and middle class in the dust. First, he waded right into the anti-immigration fight by championing a bill that was already half-way dead.

While busy fighting the Mexican invasion he passed a budget that laid off 1200 teachers. The new anti-immigration bill required that each child needed to have their nation of birth verified, which placed an even heavier burden on the school systems.  The courts ruled that he could not keep the immigrant children out of school but he ordered the information collected anyway. Why? No one knows.

Next on the agenda was rejecting the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, leaving more than 350,000 people in the Medicaid gap. That is, making too much to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to afford health insurance. According to David Bronner, one of the most respected financial experts in the state, and head of the Alabama Retirement System, claimed expanding Medicaid would have added 10,000 – 12,000 new jobs in the medical field in the state. A number of rural hospitals now on the brink of failing would be saved along with their jobs. Bentley’s only excuse was that the state could not afford it but would never provide numbers to support his claim.

Next, he and the legislature went on a binge which started taking money out the education fund and using it to allow students to go to private schools. The Republican legislature slip that through in a hurried up, take the vote in a closet before anyone knows what we are doing, session. It is called the Education Accountability Act which is suppose to allow any parents who have a child in a school that is rated as failing to move their child into another school that is not, including private school, and receive a $3700.00  tax break. Of course all of the poor families are going to jump all over that because they all need the tax break.

Meanwhile the legislature has sworn to make Alabama the most gun friendly state in the country. Like, it already is, man. Alabama has a court decision from around 1901 that say, “a man afoot on public property has a right to carry a (gun/rifle/cannon/tank/battle ship/Lars Rocket or whatever) in plain view.” They just want to ensure that it goes any farther to let people to carry them in vehicles as well.

Now we have this idiot, Mo Brooks (R) from Alabama who stated that the POTUS has been waging war on white people since he first started running for office in 2008.  This is a new one on me. I heard about the war on drugs. I heard about the war on women. I also heard about the war on poverty. In this country we are famous for starting wars against damn near everything. But I did not get this memo. Someone forgot to send me a copy and that royally pisses me off. Someone is waging war on me and none of you people told me about it. That just is not right.

Well, I tell you what Representative Brooks, the next time you decide to get in a war do not bother to call me because I will not be available. If you can’t tell me when someone is at war with me then screw you. I will just sit here and watch you get your royal ass kicked. This is so stupid it is almost not worth a comment … but I said almost. On Chris Hayes All In they said it best. If this has been a war against white people, I really don’t want to be here to watch when they start a war on non-whites. Man, how much lower can you drive those folks into the ground you dumb cracker?

Yeah, Ron, you just can’t fix stupid.

i agree with you and ron, bill…you just can’t fix stupid. as for this war on white people…it reminds me of when i was very little and i would fight with my dad. when i had just about worn myself out beating on him he would throw a little extra fuel on the fire.

“if you ever hit me and i find out about it,” he would say, “you’re going to be in big trouble!”

yeah, if the president is at war with us and we find out about it, he’s gonna be in big trouble.

Bill I love your down to earth writing style but who the heck is “Ron?”

Rachel, I appreciate the compliment and apologize for think that everyone else in the world followed the sayings of comedian Ron “they call me tater” White. Ron White is a comedian who started making it big with the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” when he hooked up with Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy, and Larry The Cable Guy. He has since went out on his own and one of his tours was called “You Can’t Fix Stupid.” However, as of late, he has slicked up his act a bit too much for my taste although he is doing well. But he is funny. I just wish he would go back to being a little less conceited about himself.

Timmy, it has always been bad but here lately it has emerged to new heights dumbness. I think someone must have pour something in the water at the capitol building or sprayed stupid gas around Montgomery.

Norman, I do understand what you are saying, but even politicians, at least some of them, should know better than to say things that stupid.
