Britain: The Disastrous Truth about Mass Immigration

Read Time:5 Minute, 19 Second

It has recently been announced by some ‘powers that be’ in Britain that mass immigration has led to an overall lowering of living standards, a reduction in the availability of medical care in the National Health Service, a shortage of housing and an increased shortage of school places.

The next expected announcement is that remembering to breathe will increase your life expectancy.

Talk about stating the bleedin’ obvious eh?

For decades anyone who questioned immigration in Britain was labelled racist, colour prejudiced or xenophobic or, more likely, all three. Certainly being opposed to mass immigration whilst being an inordinately sensible stance tended to have you tarred as a rabid member of The National Front or, more lately the British National Party.

Both the above are considered, quite rightly, as a ‘far right’ party – although I’m not entirely certain The National Front actually qualify as a political party.

The problem was, and to a lesser extent as the truth finally dawns on our politicians, is, that mass immigration is clearly unsustainable for any country. All countries have finite resources therefore if you allow too many people to settle there the finite resources will, initially, reduce in terms of benefit to the population as it grows and, ultimately, run out sooner than if there had been no immigration.

Now ‘controlled immigration’ is a boon and a blessing for any country. A shortage in the workforce whether for skilled or unskilled labour can be readily addressed by immigration. The immigrants then fill the void whether skilled or otherwise and, of course, contribute to their adopted country via taxation. Everyone is happy – well, the far right probably aren’t but everyone who is sensible is happy.

Of course, there is the issue of immigrants congregating in a relatively small area – the natural ‘herd instinct’ of safety in numbers and they can’t be blamed for this. The British have done exactly this in Spain where there is a ‘British colony’. I’ve been there. Awful. It’s like being in Essex on a sunny day. What’s the point of living in Spain if you aren’t going to respect the Spanish way of life and culture? Disgraceful and shameful.

The same has happened in Britain where immigrants have literally ‘taken over’ some towns and parts of cities to the point were, if you go there, you feel like an alien in your own country.

The far right feed on this of course, and try to stir up trouble. It doesn’t take much stirring up to be honest because as an Englishman, I feel very upset that any part of MY country doesn’t feel like England. However, I have the sense not to blame the immigrants but the politicians who have allowed this to happen.

The big mistake politicians made was so obvious it almost hurts to think they chose to ignore the bleedin’ obvious.

British Commonwealth citizens were allowed in as Commonwealth citizens. Whether they would be of any benefit was irrelevant. Being Commonwealth citizens was enough. Madness! Why oh why didn’t we use the Australian model? –

“G’day sport. You wanna come live in Australia? What can you bring to Australia?”

If you could bring skills that were in short supply you were welcomed. If you had nothing to offer you didn’t get into Australia.

Simples.

Even a dumb plant could follow that logic but could our politicians? Nope. Why? Because Britain for many decades has actually been governed by a ‘liberal elite’ who dreamed of a multi-cultural, multi-racial society and boy were we going to get their dream as a reality whether we wanted it or not.

It was bad enough before the British were conned into the European Union – and believe me, we were conned in every sense of the word. Not ever have we had a say in The European Union.

In the early 70’s Britain was asked ‘would you like to join the Common Market? The purpose of the Common Market is to make trade with Europe easier which will, of course, be very beneficial to Britain’

The Brits said “Yes!” – and why not?

That was the beginning of the European Union but guess what? The politicians hid their plans from us – you know us don’t you? A democracy with a government of the people for the people. Yeah, right.

So, not only have we had to cope with a massive immigration flow from Asia but now we are having to cope with a massive immigration flow from the European Union – mainly Eastern Europe.

That doesn’t even take into account all the Africans trying to get here as well.

There are thousands of Africans in France trying to sneak into British trucks destined for Britain. Why? Because their lives are shit and they want a better life and who can blame them for that eh? I don’t. I blame the politicians who should be making damn sure the poor bastards get kicked right back out of Britain. Some purposely ‘lose’ their papers and refuse to state their country of origin. So? make a guess and send them somewhere in Africa.

Does that sound callous? Perhaps it does but when your country is sinking under the weight of immigrants and British people see their standard of living decreasing and their health care suffering and houses being built on what’s left of our green and pleasant land and schools being built purely to accommodate immigrant children is it racist or xenophobic to cry ‘ENOUGH!’

Of course it isn’t.

Should we in Britain be accepting when our towns become alien to us? When streets are closed for alien religious celebrations? When streets are closed to accommodate prayer mats? When immigrant homes nearby have large concrete sheds built in the garden to be rented out to more immigrants? When we sit in our garden enjoying the summer only to be rudely disturbed by someone speaking on their mobile at 80 decibels in a foreign language oblivious and uncaring that they are intruding on their British neighbours lives? When we are asked to accept that our country is multi-cultural and multi-racial when nobody had even the courtesy to ask us whether we were happy for that to happen?

Are we racist or colour prejudiced or xenophobic for not accepting what our politicians have done to our country?

No. We aren’t. We are just bloody angry that’s all.

Bloody angry.

Norman, as those of us here know you are not a bigot but simply as frustrated by the chaos of the world disorder as many others are. Living in this country which is basically an entire nation of foreigners I get frustrated with politicians who cannot be logical or sensible in our immigration policies. In the sense that America has always stood for a place for people to come into to live and prosper, we once were a welcoming nation. Much of that though was due t the fact that we needed cheap labor. This country is virtually built on the backs of cheap labor from the English poor to African slaves, to Asians to build the railroads, to Hispanics to work in Agriculture. Even today one can point their fingers at big businesses and the American Chamber of Commerce for our current situation with Mexico and Central America. The government looked the other way for so many years while the “wetbacks” slipped across the Rio Grande and worked the fields, became nannies, worked as gardeners, and other menial jobs that the monied people needed done but did not want to pay decent wages for. Should we blame the people who were willing to risk the trip across the border to have money to send back to their families. Perhaps we should blames those who hired the illegals knowing they were illegal. We could very easily blame each other for wanting everything to be cheaper and not understanding that one day we would have to pay the piper in one way or another.
Make no mistake about one thing. If we, as a nation, wanted to stop illegal immigration, we could stop it. We are very good at building things to keep people in or out. The problem is that we as a nation simply do not know what our will is at any given moment. With the stroke of a few pens the government could have a public works project on the Southern border and build an impassable wall in fairly short order. But, we really do not want to do that. At least most of us do not want that. Therein lies the rub. We do not know what we want.

Norman pay no attention to “Gretchen West.” I agree with what you are trying to say here. As to your pen name we love it, as does your rather extensive fan club. Keep up the great work man.

Bigotry is no more attractive when delivered with a British accent. Are you afraid you’ll have to start learning to pronounce non-English words correctly for a change?

And, seriously, Norman Rampart as a pen-name? It makes you sound like a porn actor!

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here. Do you think I am Norman Rampart? If so you’re a bigger idiot than I initially thought.
