Giants Accidentally Beat Cards With Ninth Inning Home Run

Read Time:1 Minute, 6 Second

Well despite my many Atheist prayers and supplications to the almighty Unicorn, the Giants beat my beloved Cardinals last night when Travis Ishikawa hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning, sending the San Francisco Giants to the World Series with a 6-3 win.

These every-other-year Giants clinched the NL Championship Series in Game 5 and will now face the Royals in an all-wild-card Fall Classic that begins Tuesday night in Kansas City, Mo. Pablo Sandoval singled to start the ninth against Michael Wacha, making his first appearance of the postseason for the Cardinals. After an out, Brandon Belt walked to bring up Ishikawa, who drove a 2-0 pitch into the elevated seats in right field to set off a frenzied, orange-towel-waving celebration.

It goes without saying, having spent much of my life in Missouri, that I will once again plead with the Unicorn to send the feckless Giants straight to the depths of defeat at the capable hands of the Kansas City Royals.  Perhaps I will burn some incense this time. Go Royals!

Yeah that was a bit of “literary license” there with the word “accidental”. There was nothing accidental about that. He smack the hell out of that ball.

He did that because he told me last night, right before the game almost, how I would be crying when the Giants lost and I would need to bring a towel with me to mop up the tears. I knew better. I think it is just pure envy Bill, it’s so very sad and unbecoming to see a grown man behave like that, shameful and pitiful really 😉 This happened right after he had said that the night before he had been thinking about me when the Cardinals choked also too. I’ll bet he was crying in his drink, because he knew I would go into full on gloat mode 🙂 Not like he didn’t know this, I told him I would be doing that and I expected a post about the Giants winning and he wrote one 🙂 🙂

Unbelievable game and I knew it was lost when Cards squandered the bases loaded inning.

Sorry to disagree with Mike, but my contempt for the Cardinals knows no bounds. Actually, I kind of wanted them to win so thy could go down in flames in the Series, but I’ll take what I can get.

See now, if my beloved Giants had lost I would have gone all in on my support for the Cardinals when they went up against the Royals. Regardless of your loyalty to Missouri, you’re doing it all wrong Mike. Go with the winners 😉

LOL, accidentally my ass. WE own that pennant now Mike. If I thought you would wear it, I would send you one of the caps I got last night at the game and my little tear stained orange towel I was waving around. You did tell me last night I would need a towel for my tears when the Cardinals beat them, accidentally or not 😉 I did feel really bad about Wacha being put in that losing position, so you know Mike. There was some big celebrating going on in those stands last night, alcohol may have been involved so if you could all keep it to a very dull roar I would appreciate it. kthxbai.
Oh and GO GIANTS!!!!!1111!!!!!!1111!!!!!! Just in case, it’s forgotten, here’s a little something something for everyone (Mike) you are all so welcome.

Yes, it was such a beautiful thing I need it recorded for posterity so when you are in yer dotage, you can’t come back and say well I don’t remember it happening that way. I will be able to correct you 🙂 I did have a minor little one last night. Fell right on my ass after being tripped up by some moron pushing on me, so he could get closer to the Cardinals dugout to make fun of them. Screamed at the idiot that is why I still buy season tickets so I don’t have to push my way to the front of the line rudely. (Most of my friends say I am like Jimmy Fallon in Fever Pitch) Alcohol may or may not have been involved at that point. Of course it was, I had two very large beers at the park and had some in the parking lot before we went in. I know what you were doing mister. You only did it so I could gloat in public after our back and forth last night where I told you to do it. Julie has you well trained my good man 😉

Keeping the pitcher who threw 5 balls in a row should have been a hint to Cardinals management that things weren’t going well. Big fuck up. I hope the Royals took a lesson from that. Go Royals!
