Huckabee: Daily Chapel Services in Schools Would Stop Shootings

Read Time:58 Second

Mike Huckabee, religious fanatic and failed politician, said during a speech earlier this month at televangelist Morris Cerullo’s annual conference, that school shootings wouldn’t take place if public schools organized daily prayers, religious assemblies, Bible readings and “chapel services.”

Mike Huckabee

Huckabee said:

Because we were bringing Bibles to school people weren’t bringing guns to school, except for the deer hunters who left them in their trucks,” Huckabee said. “What has happened to our culture? What’s happened is we have lost our landmarks. When we reject the Bible as the objective word of truth, when we say that the Bible is no longer the standard by which we live and we make it whatever we feel, what we think, what we believe, then we have no landmark at all because that landmark is always being moved to accommodate our lifestyle rather than make our lifestyle accommodate the word of the living God and the power of the Holy Spirit.

If you recall, back in 2012, Huckabee reacted to the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting by blaming those who “systematically removed God from our schools,” turning schools into “a place of carnage” and “violence.”

Do you really think so Bill? I kind thought he’d be at least a democrat, and quite possibly a left wing one!

Tall Stacey it seems weird these days to think that Barry Goldwater would likely be considered a moderate or left leaning Republicans these days.

As the late, then far right conservative Senator Barry Goldwater pointed out: ” Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they’re sure trying to do so, it’s going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can’t and won’t compromise. I know, I’ve tried to deal with them. ”

There are quite a few precautionary quotes re: religious fanaticism attributed to Sen. Goldwater at http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Barry_Goldwater
that have proven to be prophetic.

Well… it appears that what we have here is an echo chamber…. You people are something…. If you step back and look at Mike Huckabee you would be hard pressed to make a case that that he is not an honest man … think about It… do all you people that posted before me really think he is evil and stupid ? If you were decent people you would say he is misguided…. but that is not you people do… your comments never have any deep underlying themes, they are always simple[the farts in the bath tub thing about Sarah?]and just generally hurtful if taken seriously…. but it is very plain that you yourselves do not take each other serious…. this is evidenced by the level of discourse in the comments on this site…. You are simple like a child when he knows nothing….and you are mean like they can be…. “Lord of the flies stuff”… but I can not say “you are like children” children are innocent and you are not…. with each passing day your burden grows… follow me…you know me…what does that mean? Ahhh !!!…this guy there is something wrong with him…. lets attack him…. call him names…you will never change. From: Canada

Hello “Me”. Yes folks around here are a bit rough on old Huckabee but let’s face it, he pretty well deserves it with his holier than thou, Glenn Beck style, I know what is right for everyone. You may be correct that he is a bit misguided but then maybe the Grand Canyon is just a dent in the ground. The Right Reverend Huckabee, IMHO is dangerous. In his world their must be perfection according to his version of his God and everyone else is just plain wrong. To verify this he produced a series of CD’s for children explaining the whole God thing, from his perspective of course, and hawked them on his political TV show as well as at his political speaking events and on FOX News. He was a candidate for the Republican nomination for president and there is always speculation about whether he will run again or not. There is an old saying that one should not mix politics and religion, but he does it all the time. He is one of those that declare this country as a Christian Nation which is completely wrong. He reminds me a lot of one of our good old boys here in Alabama, Judge Roy Moore. Moore was kicked off the state Supreme Court two years ago over a damn big rock with the ten commandments on it that he installed in the lobby of the state courthouse. The idiots in Alabama voted him back on the Supreme Court again but he is now being sued again for his religious statements from the bench. People like him and the Huckster are dangerous. First of all, the man does not know his limitations. I would imagine that he is a really good preacher, a so so governor, but knows very little about running a country because he is blinded by his own biases. Secondly, if he were to become president he wold try to turn the country into a theocracy. It would be like Iran except Christian.
But seeing as how you are from Canada I really do expect you to understand all of our politics here. In fact I wish I did not. I have suggested several times that we should revert to a parliamentary style government.

Well yes, the school shootings would stop because if public schools organized daily prayers, religious assemblies, Bible readings and “chapel services they’d be a church, not a public school!

Of course there’d be lots of shooting in the streets then too, because the rest of us would be in armed opposition to the theocratic oligarchy!

Do we really have to suffer this evangelical butt-wipe until Nov 2016? (I didn’t say listen to!)

In that case, as an old Italian grandmother-in-law I once had would say, “Mangia! Mangia!”

This would be funny if he, along with tens of millions of Americans, didn’t believe — scratch that KNOW — he is right

The man becomes more delusional every week. Does he really think serving up additional helpings of “more crazy” will help him win the presidency?

Maybe when the totalitarian theocracy is formed out of the insane states, it might.
