What Was HarperCollins’ Most Shameful Omission From Middle East Map?

Read Time:1 Minute, 3 Second

In the Middle East, Israel is the universal enemy, followed by that Great Satan, the United States, and similar to the latter, not everything might be taught in schools, at least not everything that might be unpopular, such as evolution in America and the existence of Israel in the Middle East.

(Newser) A map from HarperCollins aimed at Middle East schools has been getting a lot of one-star reviews on Amazon, and it’s not because the colors aren’t pretty. The map, which HarperCollins says was “developed specifically for schools in the Middle East,” doesn’t mention the existence of Israel, the Washington Post reports. Why? Well, according to company subsidiary Collins Bartholomew, the map follows “local preferences”; showing Israel would have been “unacceptable” to those customers, Collins Bartholomew told the Tablet.

But it seems HarperCollins has changed its mind about the map. The company says on Facebook that the “product has now been removed from sale in all territories and all remaining stock will be pulped. HarperCollins sincerely apologizes for this omission and for any offense caused.” A Catholic bishops’ conference was the first to point out the missing country.

Something I have never understood is why the Jews decided to establish a homeland in the middle of millions of people who want nothing more than to see them dead.

Yes, I know about the historical value to them of the area. For what they and the USA has spent propping up the country, every artifact and gram of soil could have been purchased and transported to Arizona or New Mexico. Either of those states bears a nice resemblance to the middle east and, again at lower cost, could have been deeded to them as their own country.

No one would have had to die and they would be much closer to the majority of their fellow Jews, who are in the USA.

I don’t get that either. I know it’s somehow rooted in history, but would have to refresh my memory as to how.
