ISIS Campaign Ads Urge Homegrown Terror
The newest product from the sick and twisted minds of ISIS is an ad campaign to encourage radical Islamists in the West to launch more attacks like the one on French magazine Charlie Hebdo.
ISIS released a series of videos last week featuring jihadists calling on their supporters in the West to rise up. In one of the videos, the jihadist says: “Don’t give up and particularly don’t lower your weapons, don’t surrender – kill. Today, it’s our darwa – kill them.”
Although the videos are in French, they also have English subtitles and are targeted toward disaffected Muslims throughout the West.
Some experts believe that homegrown terror is the most immediate threat to the US today. It is harder for counterterrorism officers to predict homegrown terror attacks than any other kind.
“You have individuals who are inspired by the ideology but aren’t directly connected to any specific group,” former Homeland Security official John Cohen said last month. “They are very difficult for our traditional counter-terrorism capabilities to pick up on.”
This makes a Charlie Hebdo – style attack in the United States a very real possibility. All that a disillusioned young Muslim would need to do is buy an AK-47 and then walk into a mall and start shooting.
Just a few hours after the videos were released, a Muslim in southern France stabbed three French soldiers outside of a Jewish community center. Luckily, they all survived.
The victims in the next attack might not be so lucky.

[…] ISIS Campaign Ads Urge Homegrown Terror […]
Very good points Julie. One thing that must be done is the recognition that this crusade by ISIS is a form of a religious ideology warfare. While we have our Christian nut cases also they have not risen to the ISIS level yet. But we must understand that these ads do play to an audience of zealots wherever they may be and once burned in their brains they are fanatical. Most do not even understand how they are being used and manipulated. While I am not a fan of censorship in most any case, this may be an exception. We may want to fight back on the internet by corrupting these websites if not sending viruses to recognize and destroy them altogether.
One other thing that we may want to reconsider. Universal background checks. I have noticed that the vast majority of Muslims who are, for a lack of a better term, peaceful, rarely gun owners. Perhaps any Muslims buying weapons should immediately be investigated.
Julie you are right to be concerned and your warning is well received. The videos you provided were disturbing. ISIS and those of their ilk, have several things going for them when it comes to recruiting in America. Their ideology is appealing to some, and the fact that the US is an open society when it comes to guns plays right into their hands. Like you said, in America, unlike other civilized nations, people can literally walk into a gun store and buy an assault weapon with little more than their driver’s license. These weapons can and have been used on others, almost always innocent people. This is a huge draw for al Qaeda, and ISIS.
Sooner or later they will be here. It’s just a matter of time. Obama needs to commit and he needs to do it now. He’s still playing the diplomatic/political shell game and by the time he’s done ISIS will be knocking at the door.
I agree Tim. This is one time I agree with McCain. We need boots on the ground for this one.
I happen to have about my person several nuclear fall out shelters. Sensible offers accepted 😉
