What Terrible Sin Did Jeb Bush Commit During His College Days?

Read Time:1 Minute, 38 Second

We are all of us sinners in our own right, and I don’t mean that in the religious sense, because I don’t believe in such silliness, but astonishingly millions do, including the Family Bush. They are known to be not only wealthy, but deeply religious, from a Texas background littered with the many myths and rules of Jesus and friends.

John E. Bush

In some states pot is legal, both medicinally and recreationally, and that makes a lot of people happy. Unfortunately it hasn’t always been that way. Like Prohibition however, an equally stupid ban on happiness, many people chose to ignore that minor little detail and smoked and joked their way through life.  Jeb Bush, likely the GOP nominee for president, was one of those people.

Michael Kranish, in a new Boston Globe article, dives into Jeb Bush’s four years at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, during which he “smoked a notable amount of pot,” according to his classmates. Bush’s classmates also told the Globe that he “sometimes bullied smaller students.”

Bush’s classmates also told the Globe that he wasn’t particularly interested in politics at the time. Bush apparently “refused to join the Progressive Andover Republicans club and often declined even to participate in informal bull sessions with classmates.”

“I drank alcohol and I smoked marijuana when I was at Andover,” Bush admitted to the Globe. “It was pretty common.” Peter Tibbetts, one of Bush’s early friends, told the Globe that the first time he “got really stoned” was when he smoked hash with Bush, who reportedly played Steppenwolf’s “Magic Carpet Ride” to mark the occasion.  As for the reports of bullying, Bush told the Globe that “it was 44 years ago, and it is not possible for me to remember.”

So, good old Jeb committed a sin.  While of a different political persuasion I have to say: good for him.  It makes him human and we all know we need more humans and less ideologues in politics.

Jeb Bush is the reason mom and I got powers of attorney for each other, after my father passed away. That being said, I’m on a break from shopping and I found a better use of my time than thinking anything about this idiot and his stupid family of hypocrites. My underwear was crawling up my butt and now it isn’t. You’re all so very welcome for that piece of TMI 😉

Oh heck, the former governor is guilty of far worse than this, albeit this is bad enough in my opinion. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane, especially with those who are tempted to believe Jeb provides a moderate voice to the Republican Party.

What most folks neglect to recall are two pivotal actions that were taken by then Governor Jeb Bush from Florida, which literally effected millions of people: first, was his aggressive involvement along with Katherine Harris implementing whatever power he had to ensure the State of Florida electoral votes were certified for his brother, former President George W. Bush, paving the way for the United States Supreme Court to rule in a presidential election when constitutional remedies were still available. In one article I read about Jeb, just this morning, he is described as a politician who is an ‘activist,” which leads to the second cluster he created: injecting himself into the Terri Schiavo case.

If you will recall, Mrs. Schiavo suffered from a rather unfortunate situation (depletion of potassium in her body) leading to her eventual collapse and heart stopping. The former governor -despite every single court ruling that Michael, Terri’s husband had the legal right to proceed to honor his wife’s wishes articulated to him by her, which was to not be left in that sort of situation, – by pulling her feeding tube from her body and ceasing all heroic measures, over-ruled that same verdict by the State Supreme Court, issuing what came to be known as Teri’s law. Of course, one cannot just blame the former governor for his actions alone, but the millions of people in the nation that believe our country should be run by a theocratic government, leading him to be an aggressive opportunist by ignoring the will of the court, motivating the state led republican legislature (the first since reconstruction) into passing his “stay” into law.

Then, when all avenues were taken in an effort to establish himself as a strong, “compassionate” conservative, by running the case up and down the judicial ladder, and LOSING, he then turned his attention towards being vindictive for losing, asking the Florida Department of Justice and police to look into unfounded allegations that Teri’s husband, Michael had somehow been involved in her death. Sickening? You both better believe it. In fact, here in the link I provide, is an article published by Politico, where they actually make the statement that “while the republican party continues to try to paint him as a moderate, he is anything BUT!” Please know: the article is a bit lengthy as it provides the entire timeline regarding this great travesty, as it cost billions of dollars from taxpayers for this to be repeatedly heard in court (over 10 years straight) before Mrs. Schiavo was allowed to enter rest. Worse part of the matter? The autopsy concluded that Mrs. Schiavo had less than one third of her brain available post mortem, and the fluid found in her brain was “spinal fluid.”

Imagine the nursing homes, the staff, the various people who were involved in her care, only for them to receive threatening letters (as did the former governor), and Mr. Schiavo. Imagine how on edge the medical community in Florida was, when the former governor injected himself into this case, all for the sole purpose of establishing his evangelical credentials for a future run to the White House (which appears is upcoming in 2016). Imagine Mr. Schiavo being caused the amount of pain, this at a time when he was tasked with ending all heroic measures to honor his wife’s wishes?

As a minister, I have often asked my wife, whether she believed those advocating a theocracy were as dangerous as radical elements from other religions, to which at first, she answered no. Then she witnessed THIS! It was bad enough that Jeb ensured the state went to his brother by placing conservative operatives at polling places in an effort to cause disruption in counting votes, but here he was literally throwing aside the court’s judgement regarding this case, establishing his own edict. And yet, they accuse the current President of acting like a king? Yeah, right! Here is the link and I sincerely hope all of your readers will take the time to read the article: Thanks!

In sum, and conclusion: to those believing Jeb Bush to being a moderate, to those believing the above is the worse he has done, just remember: thanks to Jeb we had to endure eight years of his brother’s presidency, and a woman, Teri Schaivo, who should have been allowed to die in peace, was not due to the crazy theocrats who believe an all powerful God needs their assistance to run the country!

He took a page from W’s book. “When I was young and foolish, I did young and foolish things.”

Both ignore the fact that they did these things when they were legally adults and might sill be doing them.
