Watch Bill Nye the Science Guy and Barack Obama the President Guy Mock the Science Haters
The Florida Everglades will never be the same, at least after President Obama and renowned scientist and educator Bill Nye sat down on Friday for a down to earth (see what I did there) Earth Day chat. Among other things, they discussed American school students and their lagging interest in science.
The conversation turned to Washington’s inability to reach a consensus on climate change, after discussing ways to get American kids excited about science again.
On that front, Obama lamented the way some lawmakers are “being part of the climate-denier clubs and basically stiff-arming what we know are facts — and not rebutting them with other facts, but rebutting them with anecdote or just being dismissive.”

Mike, I agree. That was a great post!
“The power of our ideas”.
We do still have some good ideas – the Hubble space telescope, the Mars rovers, Curiosity. But we haven’t seem to really all that wired since the moon landing!
And now, it’s just not important to us. The only thing we can afford is tax breaks for those who don’t need them, and religion which teaches the opposite of science. We lost our curiosity and our care and respect for human beings.
Sad.
Thanks Marsha, and sad it is indeed.
Mike this is great. Everyone in the congress should be forced to watch it.
