Krazy Kim Jong Un UNhappy With Turtle Farmers and That’s Never Good
Employees at a terrapin farm on the outskirts of Pyongyang will be trembling in fear for a while, and they have every reason to be.
According to North Korean state news agency KCNA, their Dear Leader, Kim Jong Un, isn’t too pleased with the way things are managed at Taedonggang Terrapin Farm, which was visited by Kim Jong Un’s father and created to “provide the people with tasty and nutritious terrapin widely known as a precious tonic from olden time,” Kim said, per CNN.
A few of the “serious shortcomings” he identified during a recent visit: the farm had a different atmosphere than others he was used to, there was no room set aside for studying revolutionary history, and there were no freshwater lobsters.
As Kim’s party had sent lobsters to the farm for breeding, Kim blamed the faults on the “incompetence, outmoded way of thinking and irresponsible work style” of the farm’s managers, per the Wall Street Journal.
Lobsters are expected at this year’s 70th anniversary celebration of the Korean Workers’ Party, and with sanctions limiting luxury imports, they need to come from inside the country.
“All personnel and people of the country are working hard round the clock to make good presents” for the event, KCNA said.
Kim ominously noted the farm “may bring such grave consequences as impairing the prestige of the party.”
