ObamaCare Ruling Exposes Idiocy of Republican Presidential Candidates

Read Time:2 Minute, 40 Second

In keeping with republican tradition, it’s widely known that we all hate the Supreme Court ruling upholding ObamaCare subsidies. Despite liberal thinking we are secretly happy it passed so we wouldn’t have to come up with a plan to keep the 19 million insured because of it, the reality is we didn’t have a plan because we really don’t care if those 19 million people are insured or not.

obamacare

I’ve had all night to think about this, unlike the unimaginative writers of talking points for Jeb Bush and the other candidates. They all had to come up with a response attacking the Supreme Court that wasn’t a verbatim line all the others used. So we had a dozen different jumble of words saying the same stuff about freedom and destroying America.

The candidate that would have stood out in this sea of mediocrity would have said he sees this as an opportunity to fix the flaws in Obamacare. With a republican majority in Congress and a republican president quick action to repair the parts of the law that destroy America and embolden our enemies could be changed to strengthen America and weaken our enemies.

When asked what these fixes are the smart candidate then falls back on the trusted responses about tax cuts and less regulation. But the answer is something for everyone, and if our republican president does something silly and develop a conscience about 19 million moochers losing health insurance he can just grow the deficit. Cheney said deficits didn’t matter.

None of the republican candidates will take this approach. They’re focused on the bigots, kooks and religious zealots that make up the republican base that don’t want to hear anything thought provoking. So rather than building a bigger party our base will remain the same and the same nonsense will be spouted by our candidates no matter what they’re running for.

The danger here is as has been observed, is that the word “liberal” is losing it’s dirtiness. Each day a few people that vote republican despite that voting republican is totally against their own interests are asking“my God, what have I done?” By the time the republican strategists figure this out the election will be 10 days away and they’ll have to do the embarrassing job of switching the message that late into the campaign.

Chris Matthews will have a heyday with it and drown out all the guests on his show so he can carp on it. I do wish that guy would shut up. Irritating blowhard.

Anyway, this will lead to a Hillary Clinton presidency which will lead to another obstructive Congress and zero progress on anything for eight years.

The biggest disappointment here is Jeb Bush. He’s going to get the nomination anyway. If there was ever an opportunity to build a campaign that would win 47 of 50 states in 2016 this is it. Sadly as President Obama pointed out at his last State of the Union address, he won two elections against us. With the Obamacare ruling and the lame republican response, 2016 will be his third victory. Hillary, you owe President Obama.

Bush has said if he becomes prez he will repeal it and replace it with high deductible, low premium catastrophic coverage only, because that will help out derp derp. We’ve got GoOpers saying, well we have a plan but we cannot talk about it, like it’s Fight Club or some shit. I forget the idiots name but one of the GoOpers in a swing seat, is almost begging them not to do anything till after next election so he can have his cake and eat it too. I want to say it’s either Portman or Kirk but I cannot remember.

They aren’t going to be able to repeal the ACA, even if a Rightie is elected president. I read somewhere that about 25 million will be enrolled come 2016.
