The Young Turks’ John Iadarola and Jimmy Dore discuss what they saw from the Bernie Sanders rally in Los Angeles and his new proposal to make a federal voting holiday:

“It astounds me that when President Obama became president, when we had that brief period with a super majority…that they could not make a national election day,” Iadarola says, “It seems like the easiest bill in the world to pass. And it would help the Democrats.”

Dore adds that this non-action from Democrats shows how the two-party system is dead. “Here is something Barack Obama and the Democrats should have done, which they could hold their head high about because we expanded liberty, we expanded democracy…but they wouldn’t do it,” Dore explains, “They’re spineless and they’re bought.” This is the failure of the Democratic party, which Sanders is likely to act on should he win the election.

The Young Turks also feature some footage from Sanders’s Los Angeles rally on Monday, August 10th, where Sanders touches on healthcare reform and the corruption of Citizen’s United. Watch the full commentary and check out TYT footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAqZSA8ELc8

I hope it comes down to Rand Paul/Ben Carson vs. Bernie Sander, but hopes won’t make the financial corruption go away an Amendment will.
