I’m good with no clutter around me and the minimalist look. After mom died, I redid the big room to suit hubby and I and got rid of what was basically a Doris Day/Cary Grant movie set. Mom was very clean cut lines everywhere else, but not their bedroom. Seriously it was like a flower patch started to throw up and never stopped the amount of florals in that room. bathroom too, she had flowers upon flowers in there.

I do not disagree with the idea of having too much stuff because in all my years I have accumulated a lot of stuff. But the concept of doing away with stuff so I can concentrate on me seems a bit narcissistic. Perhaps getting rid of stuff by way of giving to others would make me feel better.
