The Young Turks: Cops Working In Areas With Lax Gun Laws 3x More Likely To Get Shot
Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian expose an inconvenient truth for Conservatives and pro-gun supporters. According to a study by David Swedler of the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health, “Officers are three times more likely to be murdered on the job in high gun ownership states…”
“There were 782 homicides of police officers over the last 15 years,” Uygur explains, “Of those, how many were because of Black Lives Matter…zero. Now how many of those were committed using guns…716 out of the 782.” Kasparian adds that the pro-gun argument, arming every citizen will lead to less gun violence, is false, “Here you have individuals who are highly trained at using their weapons…and they’re still getting murdered with the bad guys with the gun.”

Well no shit, but then again why are so many cops against gun control? It’s crazy. When I was a street officer the last thing I wanted to believe was that every dickhead out there was carrying a gun. It’s bad enough worrying about the bad guys than to have to worry about the guy you stop for running a red light.
