Cenk Uygur On Assault of BLM Protester at Trump Rally: ‘This Is How Facism Begins’

Read Time:42 Second

In Alabama, Donald Trump supporters assaulted a Black Lives Matter activist. Cenk Uygur shows a clip of what happened. Usually, authorities escort protesters out of an event but in this case, Southall was knocked down and beaten up by Trump’s ‘fans.’

Trump reacted to what happened and said, “…maybe he should have been roughed up…” Uygur points out that this reaction shows how protesters are at risk of being assaulted if they go to a Trump rally. It’s not the first time Trump supporters were violent toward protesters. “This is exactly how fascism begins,” Uygur explains, adding the fact that no arrests are being made. “Imagine if this guy is President. And he’s having his ‘fans’ beat up anyone who protests the President. Is this America?”

You all can call me a racist if you want but these BLM folks have a reputation for disrupting events, including eating your dinner at the local restaurant. If they would show a little respect they would garner more favorable attention. That’s not to say someone needs to get beaten up, which I didn’t see on the video, but they need to be removed when they become disruptive and rude as they almost always are.

Not liking disruptions doesn’t make you racist, but think back about “disruptions” of the Revolution and the Civil War. Invoking against grievances and misuse of power is guaranteed by the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment is sacrosanct. Being removed because of being disruptive is okay as it is the right of the participants to have a peaceful meeting. Physical violence against a disruption is not acceptable.

Spot on. Violence creates violence.

disrupting meals and events oh no how will we ever go on. To the fainting couches for pearl clutching classes people. I’m guessing people protesting civil rights in the olden days or LGBT ones today, never bothered much about disrupting meals or events and some of them paid the price for it. It’s not the quiet protests that get news, it’s the loudest among us gets shit done for everyone else. So to those who want those of us that do get out on the streets to make a difference by our disrupting shit, yer welcome.

The political ‘right’ are growing and will continue to grow until the political ‘left’ realise that they are not ‘always’ right – if you see what I mean 😉

I am actually apolitical rather than ‘right wing’ as many believe. I’m more pragmatic personally.

As a non-aligned pragmatic voter I can see the ‘right’ gaining a lot of ground everywhere in democracies.

This is due to the ‘left’ believing any argument against theirs is wrong.

The ‘right’ are not always wrong and as long as they perceive that the ‘left’ constantly say they are wrong rather than listening and finding ‘common ground’ then the ‘right’ will continue to grow and, eventually, as history shows, we’ll see a far right government somewhere soon.

The ‘left’ need to sniff the coffee and wake up before ordinary people become ensnared by the far right.

Some ‘right wing’ arguments are actually sound. Most aren’t but some are.

Be a pragmatic ‘left’ before the ‘right’ really do rise – and we all know what happens then don’t we?

Just a thought. One of the very few so treat it gently eh?

Many of the ‘right’ believe, like many of the ‘left’ that their view is correct and only their view.

However, of late, at least in Blighty, it tends to be the ‘left’ shouting the loudest and shouting down any view that doesn’t tally with theirs.

That then drives otherwise fairly neutral or moderate people further to the ‘right’ as they get fed up with being called racist for wanting immigration controlled.

The ‘right’ have sussed this out and are keeping fairly quiet – and it’s working.

Britain’s ‘left’ need to shut up or their views – even if correct – will not be listened to.

You can only ‘hit someone over the head’ so many times before they decide they prefer ‘the other lot’ who don’t.

Keep in mind Hitler’s fascism is considered “right”. Be careful what you wish for or support “and then they came for me”.

True but Hitler was ‘far right’ in todays vernacular – like the British National Party or The National Front.

UKIP, for example, whilst they have had some loony right in their midst, strive to be ‘moderate right’.

Just as socialists are generally moderate left as opposed to communist.

At least that’s as far as I can fathom it anyway.

tRumpelstiltskin calls them his fans, HIS FANS like he’s a rock star or something. They are citizens asshole and should be treated with respect. They are more like brownshirts with tRump allowing it to happen, even encouraging the behavior. Guy is an ass who will never be anywhere near the white house unless it’s on a tour through it.

Cruz is trailing him by just a couple points right now and the negative ads have started. tRump has said, if they don’t treat him fairly all bets are off as far as an independent bid so we can only hope. tRump may very well be getting the nod but there is so much negative about him floating around, Hillz my home girl will have more than enough to take him down. Have a little faith Mike.

Donald Trump will never be President of the U.S. The fascist right wing is, and always will be, a virulent, asinine, but small minority. One hopes that evolution will prevail and these boils on humanity’s ass will eventually disappear.

MJS – The big difference is Germany was a small, relatively homogeneous society. The US is, thank goodness, much more diverse and much larger e.g. harder to control.
