Does anyone really think nature hasn’t been on the retreat for thousands of years. Humans probably played a pert in teh disappearance of North America’s megafauna but Africa’s population explosion leaves less and less room for maintenence of wilderness. Will a world with 10, 15 20 billion people be able to support anything that isn’t domesticated and raised for food?
I think it’s facile and simplistic to blame this on hunters and tempting because it’s humanity in general to blame. We use up and poison every resource we have and we always will We will soon need every square inch of land to feed us and sentimentality for nature will not stand in the way. It never has.

Hunting “wild” animals is disgusting. It takes only money and time. No skill, no intelligence (lack of same may be a requirement), an enormous ego, a sense of entitlement and a fucking gun. These trophy hunters should end up with their heads on someone’s wall.
