NRA Kook: Everyone Should Wear Body Armor

Read Time:17 Second

Mamas, please rush right out and get some toddler-size body armor for your little darlings, because the NRA has decided the best way to avoid getting shot by some lunatic (or responsible gun owner) is to wear body armor. Your little darling will look adorbs in a size 4T bulletproof vest. I’ll bet you can even…

Mike, I had thought that you were more older than I! I am a kid of the 60s (but a teen of the 70s), and I think that I do know what the whole broad burning thing was. Some women think that the whole institution of wearing bras is confirmed on them by “sexist men” to deny them (the women) the right to wear what they want. It’s just subjugation. No, I don’t agree with it; I’m home alone most days, and I wear a bra (gasp) because I feel it more COMFORTABLE! But I have no problem with someone going braless if that individual does NOT feel more comfortable with a bra. I personally have fairly large breasts, and I personally feel more comfortable with the support. Someone with less large breasts may not have the same feelings. I think “feminism” is finally getting to the point where it’s not just “MEN against WOMEN”, but it really is a case of all individuals having their own rights and decisions taken seriously. But now were getting totally off-topic… (Okay, maybe not “we”, maybe just “I”)

Ah. Interesting and my teen years ended in 1964 🙂

It’s actually ILLEGAL to wear body armor in some locations? It’s not as batshit crazy as the recommendation that everyone have body armor, but it certainly approaches that level!
Heck, I’m not even convinced that there should be laws requiring women to wear shirts! The recommendation that we all wear body armor is ludicrous!!
No, I agree, “idiot” doesn’t even begin to describe it!

I have to say there don’t need to be laws requiring women to wear shirts 🙂 Sorry. Couldn’t resist Marsha.

Total agreement! I remember when bra burning was being sold as an act of rebellion against something I’m not quite sure of. Burn Baby burn!

Besides it’s hot here in Florida.

It is hot in Florida, and humid, one of the main reasons I left. As to bra burning I never knew what it was all about either, and I’m a child of the ’60’s.

As a parent, I confess to having had thoughts about straight jackets for kids, but this is a bit over the top and food for comedy.

The NRA promotes this clown because he’s “not politically correct” which is meaningless to the point of being offensive. He’s right because he’s wrong? But I think the proposal is simply there to increase the sense of danger because fear is good for gun sales – and body armor sales too, I guess. It has nothing to do with protecting children.

But you’ve got to be careful here. Nothing to do with guns or anything related to them even indirectly is simple or easy or makes complete sense. The NRA and other fear groups are making a case that the “gummint” is trying to take away our right to self defense. It gets traction because in fact they are. There have been efforts in congress to make body armor illegal and the rationale — that if you’re concerned about being shot you must be planning a crime is absurd – at least as absurd that if you own a chainsaw you’re going to massacre someone with it, sooner or later. Hell, if I were black and in Ferguson I might consider one.

In many places wearing body armor makes a minor crime a felony, so if your little darling takes some other kid’s lunch money he may have to do time and of course it’s already illegal for felons to wear armor and in some states even a misdemeanor will make you a criminal if you wear a vest.

It’s illegal to wear these things on school property or at school sponsored events in Louisiana and in Connecticut you have to be face to face with the seller to buy it — no mail order — just look him in the eyes, kid..
I’m convinced the whole thing is about drawing attention to the attempted bans of body armor and the odd laws concerning the right to have it. It may be a legitimate discussion, but as usual for the NRA, it comes wrapped in bat shit.

I’m not sure it’s legitimate Glenn, but I know it comes “wrapped in bats shit.”
